The 2024 presidential election campaign trail was one for the history books. From former President Biden announcing he would be running for re-election, and then the democratic party deciding to pull him as their candidate and replace him with the then Vice President Harris. And who can forget the horrific assignation attempt on President Trump’s life as well. This was an election campaign that was full of twists and turns. Now before I go any further, please know this episode is not about bashing any candidate or political party. So why reflect on this now? Because this past election can teach us all valuable lessons that go beyond just winning or losing. This past election also teaches us about two types of people, the delayed and the delayer.

So what does being a minister have to do with Doogie Howser? It doesn’t matter if you’re a doctor, lawyer, student, parent, janitor, kid, prisoner, etc. Whoever you are, if you’re alive, you’re a minister of some kind. Every day we all minister in the form of whatever job you have at the time, or just by whatever you’re doing in the moment. This episode of AIH dives into how all this applies to you!

What’s the # 1 thing the world needs more of, after love? Is it acceptance, is it tolerance, or is it a standard 3-day weekend upheld by federal law? It’s none of the above. What the world needs more of after love (by Biblical definition) is a call to action in understanding. Not only would so many iconic tv shows agree, such as All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Good Times, Home Improvement, Family Matters, Big Bang Theory, and many others, but the Bible leads in this top answer where it originally states, “Love thy neighbor as thy self”.

Before I dive into this sensitivetopic, let me start off by saying murder is wrong. And by the Biblicaldefinition murder means the wrongful/illegal taking of an innocent human life.To take an innocent life illegally by Biblical definition and then bydefinition of the law of the land, is wrong. This podcast is not condoning whatLugi Mangione is being charged for by authorities, which is the illegal killingof the former United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. We are reviewing how can welearn from the breakdown of this situation in a way that applies to our owndaily lives, through a lens of hope for the future.

With everything going on with the L.A. fires, it’s only natural to stop and reflect as we seek to see how we can help those who have lost so much. But can we learn from all the death and destruction experienced by the wealthy and everyday person? I believe we can. We see clearly that the devastation and destruction brought on by the L.A. fires were no respecter of persons/status, from loss of life to property loss. So many in record numbers have lost so much rapidly to the L.A. fires. This episode of Anchored In Hope explores a deeper look into the L.A.
