I’ll start by saying that I’m using 3Speak to publish this post, so I have no idea how it will turn out... let’s hope for the best, because I might have messed things up a little 😅 In the meantime, what you can see in the video just above are two snails cuddling. Yes, we’re peeking into a very intimate moment in the sexual life of these creatures—or at least I think so. As you can see, the two snails are entwined with each other, hanging from a rock thanks to their slime, with parts of their bodies stretched and wrapped together in that white, gelatinous mass dangling beneath them. The surface of this cluster looks moist and, if you look closely, you can notice movements, which I imagine are due to the sexual activity of the two snails. In the video I managed to catch some of them, though I wish I’d had the patience to stay there a little longer, so I could see what would happen at the end of the mating. Inside this gelatinous structure you can also notice some sort of organ (or something like that?) pink in color and elongated in shape. I don’t know if it reminds you of anything... but it’s probably just a coincidence 🤣 Or maybe not, I have no idea! For sure, I had never seen anything like this before... and even more certainly, I never imagined that snail reproduction worked this way. To be honest, I had never wondered how it might work, but now that I’ve seen it I can say that no, I definitely didn’t expect this 😂 Still, it was a really peculiar thing to witness, and I hope I didn’t disturb the little moment of intimacy of these small creatures. Premetto che sto utilizzando 3Speak per pubblicare questo post, per cui non ho idea di cosa uscirà... speriamo bene, perchè potrei aver fatto un po' di casino 😅 Intanto, ciò che potete vedere nel video poco sopra sono due lumache che si fanno le coccole. Sì, stiamo sbirciando in un momento decisamente intimo della vita sessuale di queste creature, o almeno credo. Come potete vedere, le due lumache sono avvinghiate l'una all'altra, appese ad una roccia grazie alla loro bava, con parte dei loro corpi allungati ed avviluppati in un quella massa bianca e gelatinosa che penzola sotto di loro. La superficie di questo agglomerato appare umida e, se si guarda con attenzione, si notano dei movimenti, immagino dovuti all'attività sessuale delle due lumache. Nel video sono riuscito a coglierne alcuni, anche se vorrei aver avuto la pazienza di restare lì ancora per un po', così da poter vedere cosa sarebbe successo alla fine dell'accoppiamento. All'interno di questo struttura gelatinosa è possibile anche notare una sorta di organo (o qualcosa di simile?) di colore rosa e dalla forma allungata. Non so se anche a voi ricorda qualcosa... ma probabilmente è solo un caso 🤣 O forse no, non ne ho idea! Di sicuro non avevo mai visto niente del genere... e ancor più di sicuro non immaginavo che la riproduzione delle lumache funzionasse a questo modo. In realtà non mi ero mai chiesto come potesse funzionare, ma ora che l'ho visto posso dire che no, decisamente non mi aspettavo questo 😂 Sicuramente è stata comunque una cosa molto particolare da vedere e spero di non aver disturbato il piccolo momento di intimità di queste piccole creature. Voi avevate mai visto qualcosa di simile? Castiglion del Lago is a small town in the Region of Umbria - just a few kilometers away from the border with Tuscany - which every year for Christmas gets filled with lights, colors, Christmas trees, nativity scenes and thematic events to celebrate both Christmas and the beginning of the New Year. Reaching this location requires a bit of a drive for my girlfriend and me - roughly half an hour - so almost every year, during December, we decide to stop by to breathe in some Christmas air and take at look at the lake and - this year - even at some Lego! Yes, because while we were walking through the streets of the town center, surrounded by the ancient medieval walls and overlooking Lake Trasimeno, we were attracted by a sign announcing a small Lego-themed exposition, with entry allowed for the symbolic amount of 1 euro per person. The funny thing was that, unlike what one might expect, the Lego enthusiast is not me, but my girlfriend, who, as we passed in front of the entrance door of the room where the Legos were exposed, stopped with an enraptured look, like that of a little girl in front of her favorite game, and with a very sweet smile made me realize what the next destination of our walk had to be. And so we entered the Preconsiliare Hall of the Municipality of Castiglion del Lago and found ourselves in front of a vast number of buildings, characters, cars, fantastic creatures, landscapes, spaceships, dragons - even! - made with the world's most famous bricks. I must admit that even I, not a fan, couldn't help but admire the incredible variety and care with which all these characters and buildings were made, making famous sagas such as Star Wars, Star Treck, Ghostbusters, Batman, Super Mario, and places, existing and not, instantly recognizable, from the Colosseum, to "The Office" or the famous and iconic bar from the series "Friends." I expected to walk through all those Legos casually and instead found myself with my girlfriend jumping from one collection to another to admire every piece and model! After about twenty minutes we left - the room as I said was quite small, despite the fact that they had made use of almost every single square meter - and, to start the New Year in the best possible way, I immediately asked my girlfriend if she could send me all the pictures she had taken, so that I could share for the first time here on Hive a post a bit different from the usual one - *albeit still gaming-themed, sort of! I also leave you with a small video and several other photos, apologizing if some of them are a bit blurry, but the light in some places was far too dim, not making it possible to make the images more in focus. Versione italiana Italian version Castiglio del "LEGO": Non si è Mai Troppo Vecchio per un po' di Lego! Castiglion del Lago è un piccolo Comune della Regione Umbria - a pochissimi kilometri di distanza dal confine con la Toscana - che ogni anno per Natale si riempie di luci, colori, alberi di Natale, presepi ed eventi a tema per festeggiare sia il Natale che l'arrivo del nuovo Anno. Per me e la mia ragazza raggiungere questa meta richiede un piccolo viaggio in macchina - più o meno una mezz'oretta - per cui quasi ogni anno, nel corso del mese di Dicembre, decidiamo di farci un salto per respirare un po' di aria natalizia, di lago e - quest'anno - anche di Lego! Sì, perchè mentre passeggiavamo per le vie del centro cittadino, circondato dalle antiche mura medioevali e che si affaccia sul lago Trasimeno, siamo stati attratti da un cartello che segnalava lo svolgersi di una piccola esposizione a tema Lego, con ingresso consentito per la simbolica cifra di 1 euro a persona. La cosa buffa è che, diversamente da quello che ci si potrebbe aspettare, l'appassionato di Lego non sono io, ma la mia ragazza che, mentre passavamo di fronte alla porta di ingresso della sala dove erano esposti i vari Lego, si è fermata con lo sguardo rapito, come quello di una bambina di fronte al suo gioco preferito, e con un sorriso dolcissimo mi ha fatto capire quale doveva essere la prossima meta della nostra passeggiata. Ed ecco che così siamo entrati nella sala Preconsiliare del Comune di Castiglion del Lago e ci siamo trovati di fronte ad un vasto numero di costruzioni, personaggi, macchine, animali fantastici, paesaggi, astronavi, draghi - addirittura! - realizzati con i mattoncini più famosi al mondo. Ammetto che anche io, che non sono un appassionato, non ho potuto fare a meno di ammirare l'incredibile varietà e cura con cui tutti questi personaggi ed edifici erano realizzati, rendendo immediatamente riconoscibili saghe famose come Star Wars, Star Treck, Ghostbusters, Batman, Super Mario, e luoghi, esistenti e non, dal Colosseo, all'ufficio di "The Office" o al famoso ed iconico bar della serie "Friends". Mi aspettavo di camminare in mezzo a tutti quei Lego distrattamente e mi sono invece ritrovato con la mia ragazza a saltare da una collezione all'altra per ammirare ogni pezzo e modellino! Dopo una ventina di minuti siamo usciti - la sala come dicevo era abbastanza piccola, nonostante avessero sfruttato praticamente ogni metro quadrato - e, per iniziare al meglio l'Anno Nuovo ho subito chiesto alla mia ragazza se poteva mandarmi tutte le foto che aveva fatto, così da condividere per la prima volta qui su Hive un post un po' diverso dal solito - seppur sempre a tema gaming, in un certo senso! Vi lascio anche un piccolo video e varie altre foto, scusandomi se alcune sono un po' sfocate, ma la luce in qualche punto era fin troppo ovattata, non rendendo possibile mettere più di tanto a fuoco le immagini.
