    Henrik Ilvesmäki heads the architecture and consulting agency Studio Ilvesmäki and functions as partner and brand strategist in a sustainability focused startup company based in the US. He graduated as an architect from Aalto University and has since completed two post-professional master’s degrees in advanced architectural design and design thinking at Harvard University. Ilvesmäki works as an architect on multiple building projects and consults companies on the development of architectural trends. In addition to this, he teaches design thinking at Aalto University.     The guest of the tenth episode is Antti Kaski, the Ambassador of Finland to Colombia, Panama and the Dominican Republic. He is Head of Mission of the Embassy of Finland in Bogotá. The Embassy is also responsible for relations with Venezuela.Prior to his current position, Mr. Kaski served as the Deputy Head of Mission in the Embassy of Finland Berlin (2017-2021) and as the Director for Policy Planning and Research in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (2013-2017). He has also served in Finland’s Embassy in Vienna, also covering relations to Slovakia and Slovenia, and in Finland’s Representations to the European Union in Brussels (EU external relations incl. as Deputy Representative to the Political and Security Committee) and to the United Nations in Vienna (UN Office on Drugs and Crime and arms control).From 2010 to 2013, he was Senior Research Fellow and Diplomatic Advisor at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. In Finland’s Foreign Ministry, Kaski also worked at the Security Policy Unit of the Political Department (EU security and defence policy, Nato and general security policy) and the Unit for Trade Policy of the Department for External Economic Relations (EU trade policy, trade and development).Kaski has a doctorate in International Politics (University of Turku, Finland).     #9 Mona Schalin

    The guest of this episode is Mona Margherita Schalin, a Finnish architect. Schalin studied architecture at the University of Technology and graduated in 1987. Schalin specializes in the design of demanding renovation projects and the protection of the built cultural environment. Schalin’s most famous work is the renovation of Käärmetalo (Mäkelänkatu 86) in Käpylä, Helsinki, of which she is the main designer. His scientific work focuses on climate change mitigation by bringing together architecture, engineering, and ecology. He holds a master’s degree in urban planning and economics with a sub-focus on applied strategy development from the London School of Economics.     #5 Eero Lunden

    The guest of the fifth episode is Eero Lundén, the founder of the Helsinki-based Lundén Architecture Company. Eero earned a Master in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University, New York after graduating as an architect from Oulu University. Eero has taught and lectured in several universities in Finland as well as abroad. In 2018 he was appointed as the curator of the Nordic pavilion in 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale.     #4 Mark Linder

    The guest of the fourth episode is Mark Linder. Mark is co-founder of both N2 Comms, remembered for campaigning for a Tesla gigafactory in Vaasa and against early children’s smartphone use. More recently he co-founded Amöl Projects to improve the communication of deep technologies  More relevant to this podcast for the past year Mark has been contracted to and working in Neom, the ambitious megaproject aiming to create a new economic and residential zone in Northwest Saudi Arabia. Mark’s role was to frame the project to increase international involvement from the construction industry.Mark has a background in infrastructure stakeholder positioning and engagement. He has worked in onshore natural gas in the UK (suspended indefinitely) with the Venezuelan national oil company PDVSA (production has declined mercilessly), with the development of tidal lagoons on the west coast of the UK (labelled a green white elephant). He is closely involved in Finland’s TAKT movement, the (long overdue)application of Lean production methods to construction. Mark is also an active partner at the Architectural Democracy group.     #3 Arni Heiskanen

    The guest of the third episode is Aarni Heiskanen, a Construction Innovation Agent and the Managing Partner at AE Partners. Aarni has a masters degree in architecture, and worked as an architect and architectural R&D manager for over a decade. Gradually, he grew more and more interested in innovative business development. He became an internet entrepreneur and, later on, a certified management consultant (CMC).Today, he is the co-owner of AE Partners, an AEC innovation agency.     #2 Panu Lehtovuori

    The guest of the second episode is Panu Lehtovuori, a Professor of Planning Theory at the Tampere University, School of Architecture. Before the current position, he was the Professor of Urban Studies at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn. Lehtovuori’s research interests focus on contemporary forms of public urban space, new urban design approaches, the resource-efficiency of the built environment and the evolution of planning law. Lehtovuori belongs to the Tampere Urban Studies Network TURN and is co-leader of the Urban Planning Research Group. Besides his academic and educational work, Lehtovuori is active in Livady Architects, SPIN UNIT and Nordic Urbanism.
