Audio Gumshoe is Back on the Beat e01

Hi, I’m Rich Palmer. Way back in 2005, I first began producing a music podcast called the Miami Valley Musicast. This show featured interviews and music from independent musicians from the region where I lived. The show soon became “Audio Gumshoe” and I produced it until early 2019.The format had several small changes over the years, expanding to feature music from all around the globe. But one thing stayed the same… it always featured independent artists who hoped new fans would listen and enjoy their tunes.I’ve made a decision. Audio Gumshoe is back. With the influx of generative AI and the predatory nature of the streaming services, which don’t really care about the music; they simply want the revenue, it seems like it’s time to help support indie artists again. Each show features three songs from an independent band or musician. These will vary in genre, with an attempt to share diverse – and sometimes eclectic – music that appeals to not only niche audiences, but that I hope introduces people to music they possibly wouldn’t have heard because of the strangled algorithms streaming services use to spoon-feed you songs they “think” you like to hear. (I don’t want to go into detail about what I think about the number of these that were stolen from the creative works of real people.)Be sure to subscribe using your favorite podcast app or listen on the site player. We’re back, baby.Audio Gumshoe, uncovering original, independent music from real humans.audiogumshoe.net
