First Scrimmage, First Lessons

It was a challenging game with an 8-1 loss, but there’s much more to it than the final score. From early morning prep to the final buzzer, this scrimmage was about shaking off the pre-season jitters and learning to come together as a team.I share the behind-the-scenes of game day, starting with early bus rides, off-ice warmups, and our unique pre-game rituals. It was also the first game experience for our new players – an essential chance to settle nerves and start forming that all-important team chemistry.Being a student-athlete comes with sacrifices, and I talk about the discipline we all commit to before a game, including our 72-hour policy and the importance of managing schoolwork.
