Ron Scheffler, by trade, holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and has over thirty years’ experience in the off-road industry. He is currently Senior Product Manager of Mowers for Bobcat Company. Ron is a husband, a father of 4, and a grandpa. He is, above all this, a follower of Jesus who has lived out his faith through various initiatives, including being a Men’s Ministry Leader, an Elder at his local church, and a lay preacher for 30+ years. In his fifth decade of life, Ron went back to school to receive an Associate of Arts degree in Biblical Studies, which he uses as part of the preaching team at his church.Bear Your Shield Podcast is a concept that is intended to remind us who we are, what our purpose is, and how we can best walk this life with integrity and mission. Fun moments in the studio this episode as my daughter-in-law joins me in a discussion on protecting children and her marriage. Nayoung came to America, from Korea, to attend high school and college, met my oldest son, Jake, got married, and they are now expecting their first child. She discusses some of the differences between Korean and American school systems, and some of the pitfalls in a bi-cultural marriage. Nayoung is planning to bear her shield for both Jake and her child by the lessons learned through her international experiences.

God's covenant with Abram is made official, but resembles that of something even greater. Abram continues to ask God how this blessing will come to fruition when he is childless, and God responds and reminds Abram of God's previous commitment. Do we trust God in all we do? We can trust him because God cares about all the little things in our lives, as well as the big ones. Take heart and know that God is with us.
