Radio Episode 013: Shark Faicol
Beats of All-Nations Radio Episode 013 is here featuring the international house sounds of Shark Faicol, a talented DJ and musician (drums & piano) that is very close to our operation. He is one-half of Mabuhay Miles (a collab with Porchlite), a member of The Compound and gets recurring spins at the GetDownOC. He’s shared stages with Mark Farina, Nic Fanciulli, Marques Wyatt, Doc Martin, Joeski, Sonny Fodera, and Aeroplane, to name a few, and he’s prepping to open for Miguel Migs tonight in Newport Beach at Focus OC. “This mix features selected music from: Todd Edwards, J Letto, Tom Misch, Voyeur, Konstantin Sibold, Detroit Swindle, I tried covering a lot of ground in this mix. Really went for a more international sound spanning from Chicago, Africa, Amsterdam, and more. Mix starts with slower tempo house, groovy looped based tracks. Later we explore quicker tempos that feature tracks with horns, vocals and even some classic house. Basically tried to encapsulate the funk, but place it in a house music type sensibility." Tracklist: 1. Voyeur - Why 2. Voyeur - The Long Way Home 3. Motor City Drum Ensemble - Raw Cuts 3 (Original Mix) 4. Detroit Swindle - Figure Of Speech (Original Mix) 5. G. Markus - No Not In The Face (Original Mix) 6. Kwabs - Walk (Todd Edwards Remix) 7. Tom Misch - Beautiful Escape (feat. Zak Abel) 8. Arturo Garces, J Lettow - Where Were You (J Lettow Remix) 9. Co.Fee - White Sands
@co_fee - White Sands DOWNLOAD THIS ENTIRE COMPILATION FREE at beatsofallnations.bandcamp.com Beats of All-Nations: Seasons Change is a 13-track feature compilation of beats and compositions. On this collection we are revisited by artists whom we’ve worked with in the past, and several of which making their Beats of All-Nations debut. Following the success of his album In the Moment, Makaya McCraven, a pioneer in the new jazz era offers the live-drum heavy “Midman.” Bombay Da Realest, producer of Blu’s Good to Be Home album, hits hard with the funk inspired “Dig This”. Sev Seveer, the highly creative abstract hip hop manufacturer of our first official release, Constant Elevation: Odessa Star, returns with vocalist Megiapa on the vibed out “C.S.G.” International sounds however are not forgotten by Co. Fee on the Brazilian inspired “White Sands.” The compilation comes complete with exclusive artwork designed by Deladeso. Beats of All-Nations, founded by Mike Styles in 2009, did not set out to be a label, nor have we conformed to that title. We are a community of artists, producers, deejays music and culture enthusiasts. Our operation is small, though we are represented by many with a goal to continuously raise the bar while keeping the art diverse and the vibes just right. We feature artists you may already love, but especially those you may have never heard before. Along the way, we have given independent artists a voice and an open space to create while introducing them to new audiences. Beats of All-Nations’ very own Porchlite gets busy on the smoothed out “Where are the Roses.” French producer 7even Sun, of our second release Escapologies and our veteran engineer Choco also supply some enlightening rhythms to the project. Other contributors include wave Groove and DJ Erok of Void Shift, Radius (Etc. Records) and Repeated Measures (New Los Angeles/Beat Cinema). The comp opens with music by Aux Voyager and closes with a colossal tune by SLEEP TO STATIC, two veteran producers from our community. Radio Episode 008: wave Groove
Beats of All-Nations Episode 008 Mixed by http://soundcloud.com/wavegroovebeats “As I keep progressing further into sound I find myself diverging out of the normal and really searching within myself to hear what I like.” 2014 was a big year for Los Angeles bassed producer wave Groove. The Critical Beatdown member, joined up with Beat Cinema, and created his own ‘hub’ for music with DJ Erok called Voidshift Radio, names that all ring loud in Southern California. He was put on heavy line ups and generated a nice buzz, stealing shine from headliners on every bill he played. His new album DATA / FORMAT / BEAT / PROJECT was beautifully constructed and is available now (links below). On this mix wave Groove plays a few of his new tunes side by side with some handpicked others. In the interview below wave Groove tells us about his evolution from dj to production, his take on turntables and controllers, opening for SBTRKT and what to expect at Re:Fresh Valentine’s Day 2015: wave Groove Album Release Party. Sev Seveer "Constant Elevation: Odessa Star"
Beats of All-Nations presents http://soundcloud.com/sevseveer "Constant Elevation: Odessa Star" beatsofallnations.bandcamp.com for free album download. [BOAN001] Released 10/27/14 Words By Sev Seveer: “Constant Elevation: Odessa Star is the soundtrack to my dementia-riddled late-grandmother’s journey through cosmic space at age 91. It is the sonic narration of my experience caring for a person who has lost their mind. A juxtaposition of the two circumstances that I find most terrifying- being lost in space with no control, compared to being an otherwise sober-minded person gradually witnessing the loss of their mental capacity– as I have come to imagine that the two circumstances may be very similar. About 70% of the final product was recorded improvisational in two single-take sessions. Ultimately I strung those sessions together along with individual additions and chose to go with a 29-minute recording as opposed to individual tracks— to further simulate a lack of control in a lost-in-space/lost-in-mind circumstance. Thus, this release is truly for advanced listeners only. It is not straight beats all the way through, in fact there are really only about 5 or 6 beats here. The recording is more of a journey that explodes into beat music on occasion. With the various parts I had the word “movement” more in mind: there are 8 “movements” in CEOS, all of which are the main themes of the perception of Odessa’s experience. The movements are: Confidence, Dementia/The Humbling, The Spiral/Reduction, Farewell, The Journey, Stress/Chaos, Finding Humor in Pain, and Clarity. On the last sequence. Clarity, I had the opportunity to record the duet with megiapa, a Chicago-based Ohio born artist who is truly talented vocally and on production as well. Look out for her! I’d like to also credit John Robinson (aka lil sci) for the lyric that provided the title and concept for this release. the lyric “Constant Elevation through the soundwaves and radio stations” is from “U.S.A” by Scienz of Life. Radio Episode 005: Gingee
Beats of All-Nations Radio Episode 005 // Mixed by Gingee [http://soundcloud.com/gingee] Meet Marjorie Light, better known as Gingee. She’s been DJing for over a decade now and has turned the heads of her peers and the ‘higher music council’ with her own brand of bass music for the last few years. She is a diversified young lady who you would think is ready to take on the world, but she’s already been two-steps ahead of all that. Bound to the rhythm for as long as she could remember, Gingee, raised in LA, grew up in a house of music leading her to become a passionate student of self-expression. From playing instruments as a youth, to self-publishing poetry as a teen, promoting a music festival that began in her Mom’s garage and eventually putting out several of her own albums and Eps, Gingee’s evolution as an artist and commitment may be just in time to land her a space amongst some of the great innovators in the future of global bass. She’s a killer producer, an mc and singer, plus a damn good dj, the scratching alone will make you itch! “…some of my productions mixed with global bass from around the world, including rasterinha, zouk bass, moombahton and kuduro plus I added some scratching and fun transitions.” -Gingee Check our Interview with Gingee and Download her 'Tradigital' ep at http://beatsofallnations.com/2014/08/26/beats-of-all-nations-radio-005-gingee/ Tracklist: DJ Kin - Vai no Chão Gingee - This is How I Roll Photo Romance - Bota Na Cara Gingee - Call to Drum Gingee - Lifted Bot - Monky Man Choppa Dunks - Piter Legitimate Scandal - Fu Gee La (Mike n Sabro Vibedita) Gingee - Loca Fresca Schlachthofbronx x Sabo x Nadastrom - Negra Linda Mambo Killers - Moombah do Mondo Santos Suarez - The Drums (Sabo edit) Gabriel Rowano - Rompe La Discoteca Happy Colors - Hay Mi Madre ft. Radio Episode 004: DJ Jimbo Jenkins
Beats of All-Nations Radio Episode 004 mixed by http://soundcloud.com/DJJimboJenkins. Bass, Trap and Trill from around the World! Our fourth installment of Beats Of All-Nations Radio features a brand new mix from the imaginative world of sound and bass by DJ Jimbo Jenkins! Maybe you’ve never heard of him, though he has become an important part of the music scene puzzle in Southern California. Born in L.A. and raised east of it, and Jimbo was brought up, like many of us on hip hop music and culture. In college at UC Riverside, Jimbo took involvement with Hip Hop Congress, focused on organizing on campus events. He soon after began djing the house party and nightclub circuit in Riverside. This would eventually lead into his post-grad time focused on throwing parties of his own in Pomona with some close friends, creating a base for DJs he respected in the local community. Today Jimbo Jenkins continues to create with conceptual mixes, mash-up projects and beats. His Trillest Mixtape Series, is a unique look into hip hop and R&B from the common hits to the equally great gems by slept on artists hailing from east of L.A. The kid continues to raise eyebrows within the industry, even Diplo posted a photo of Jimbo’s Travis Portishead mash-up project on Instagram. There’s also a mixtape collaboration with Pheo (Mad Decent/Vested in Culture). You can catch Jimbo in the mix live on 2nd & 4th Saturdays at his night called SELECT at Green Room at Fox Theater in Pomona with Arti (My Hollow Drum) and a monthly throwback party called Oh Snap! with Arti, Erok (More Fire/Critical Beatdown), Haruto (The Flyball), and Kab (MHD). “I’ve found myself to have met and worked with many hardworking people on music, parties, and shows between L.A., O.C. and the I.E. and it makes me happy and proud to be from around these parts.” -DJ JIMBO JENKINS Read our interview with Jimbo Jenkins: http://beatsofallnations.com/2014/06/12/beats-of-all-nations-radio-episode-004-mixed-by-dj-jimbo-jenkins/ Tracklist: BRZLNR X BADDMON - Para El Rey Bravo LVDB - Latin trap Remix Enur - Calabria 2007 feat. Radio Episode 003: Radius & Sev Seveer
Beats of All-Nations Radio Episode 003 featuring http://soundcloud.com/Radiusetc & http://soundcloud.com/SevSeveer Live beats & exclusive music. All for you. Just for you. PART 1: RADIUS (00:30-24:10) PART 2: SEV SEVEER (24:10-54:44) Radius comes from Chicago’s Southside but really a resident of the earth, a traveling beat maker. Designing sound since 2001, Radius has made quite a name for himself in today’s beat scene. He has successfully ran the LA circuit, gaining respect and head nods from the likes of Low End Theory, dublab and Beat Cinema to name a few. He’s released music in almost every format from 7″ vinyl, cassettes, cd and digital. Radius only needs the most minimal set up, a MPC 1000, a Korg Kaossilator Pro and Korg Kaoss Pad Mini to perform his improv beat sets. He packs light, travels heavy and extracts everything he needs out of the little that he carries. Sev Seveer comes from the Northside of the Chi, with a background of journalism, in college he participated in Hip Hop Congress, hosted and DJed radio shows from “Beats n Rhymes” on WPGU 107.1 to “The Hip Hop Project” on WLUW 88.7 FM. He has managed to find time in all of that to create his own path with music. With many releases under his belt, some of his most notable works include Freddie Gibbs’ “Terrorist (Seveer Transmission Remix)” as well as featured releases with Pragmatic Theory, Push Beats Chicago and composing bed music for The Roy Ayers Project. No stranger to the live element, Sev has plugged in and played his SP and Kaoss Pad at SXSW for the last two years (2013: DJ Set, 2014: Beat Set), featured at Beat Swapmeet and opened for Elaquent. What drew us to these guys was their ability to completely bend any rules of limitation on standard production, they take their own path and finish ahead of the rest. But that’s not the only reason. There’s something about these two that we can’t really put into words. Its more of the intangible nature. Maybe its their ability to be independent and on the move. Maybe its their good spirits. Maybe its their connectedness to the Earth…Its probably all of that and then some. At the point of publishing this episode, neither producer has heard the mix of the other. So not only will it be your first time hearing this episode in full, it’ll be theirs as well. We’re sending a huge THANK YOU to the guys for all of their hard work on this episode. Read our interview with the two beat maestros here: http://beatsofallnations.com/2014/04/30/beats-of-all-nations-radio-episode-003-featuring-radius-and-sev-seveer/ Mastered by: Choco (1200 Warriors, Wu Tang)

Radio Episode 002: Bombay & Porchlite
Beats of All-Nations Radio Episode 002 Featuring http://soundcloud.com/Bombay-da-Realest & http://soundcloud.com/Porchlite Episode 002 features the brilliant production from the Inland Empire’s very own Bombay. This guys isn’t your average producer, Bombay has been building heavy steam over the years. His production credits include Aloe Blacc, Blu, Alchemist, The KO Corporation, and Home Grown Organix. 2013 was a busy year for Bombay, he managed to tour with Blu, and Tiron & Ayomari, DJ’ed for Elzhi at Paid Dues, and released his critically acclaimed Last 3 Days album, and 2014 looks even more promising. It’s no wonder he’s been referred over and over as the ‘IE’s best kept secret,’ from those in the know. In this episode Bombay’s beats, mostly unreleased instrumentals and exclusives, are mixed by Beats of All-Nations very own Porchlite. Who is no stranger to the game either, Porchlite is one of our in-house producer/DJs dabbling in a range of sounds from electronic, house to downtempo and hip hop. In the past he has toured the nation with the likes of The Roots, NERD, Talib Kweli, Mayer Hawthorne and Skillz. His production and performance schedule is a busy one in 2014 so we’re sure you’ll be seeing and hearing him all over the place. Bombay and Porchlite’s collaboration on this mix is something special as the two are well acquainted with each others styles and you probably won’t hear their music as well represented as in this mix. Without further ado here is Beats of All-Nations Radio Episode 002 featuring Bombay & Porchlite. Enjoy!
