Episode 3: Entrepreneurialism Join us on a journey through the Social Innovation Hub’s Indigenous Tech Showcase, where we go beyond the textbook to learn about Indigenous perspectives to social entrepreneurship. In this episode, we speak with Adaeze Hubbard from the Social Innovation Hub and local Indigenous founders James McInnes, Joshua Day Chief, and Colby Delorme. Through shared experiences, stories and insights, we learn about showcases and investor circles as alternatives to Western-style pitch competitions. Episode 2: What if preserving language could shape the future of culture? In this episode of Beyond the Textbook, we’re joined by Douglas Winnipeg from Siksika Nation, who shares how the Blackfoot language carries identity, history, and innovation. As a first-year engineering student, Douglas, alongside his two group mates, created a prairie chicken-inspired language learning toy to support Blackfoot revitalization. Through this conversation, we explore how Indigenous language preservation bridges generations, inspires new ways of learning, and keeps culture alive through both tradition and technology.
