Episode #8: "Importance of Looks" | Big on Small Talk Show
In the eighth episode, titled “Importance of Looks”, the Big on 'Small' Talk Show hosts Anuj and Manav discuss the undeniable implications of "Looks" that impact every aspect of lives! Take a peek behind the facades and question society; what is it that defines a person's attractiveness? This episode explores social stereotypes, how attractiveness affects lines of work, the "beauty bias" and consequently unfair criticism for the ones not "good" enough. How far are people willing to go to portray a socially acceptable self, and what happens when society chooses those smokes and mirrors and surface value over substance and reality? Through honest discussion, we finally cut through the beautiful lies of society and get to the ugly, #nofilter truth. Explore the impact of the beauty standards today, and how distorted it has become due to social media. Every selfie and profile photo airbrushed to perfection, and everyone oversaturating their vision of beauty with #filters and real life fillers. Question society's pressure to conform at every stage of life, whether teen, adult, or older. Why more and more people go under the knife to appear younger, and how society has seemingly outlawed people to age naturally. Let's make this 'small talk' BIG by exposing the societal pressure to conform to skin deep standards instead of personal growth and fulfillment. You are not alone to fight these smokes and mirrors, and with inspirational stories from the community we can change the narrative to be real and that honesty is the best policy.

ABOUT THIS SHOW
There are podcasts and then there are life changers. Big on 'Small' Talk is a show about nothing, yet practically everything...and everyone!
