    You, Me and ADHD

Episode 7: You, Me And ADHD Welcome back to Bill and Rupe's Fairly Accurate Podcast!. In this episode, Bill and Rupe sit comfortably in respective chairs, surrounded by a dimly lit studio. The atmosphere is relaxed, a bottle of wine has been opened and it is just the 2 of them. There is no pressure. No chance of offending their guest. It is time to talk about their thoughts, likes, and dislikes. Rupe talks about his love of poetry, and quotes lines from one of his favourite poems, which really impresses Bill, becasue he has difficulty remembering anything. The meaning of the poem goes straight over Bill's head. He is even more impressed when Rupe considers the possibility that William Wordsworth might have been totally stoned when writing his poem about a bunch of daffodils. What other poems were written when they were stoned? Should Bill take up poety? The conversation turns once again to "feelings" which always makes Bill uncomfortable. They explore the possibility they both might be on the ADHD spectrum. Bill: "I am beginning to think I might have a touch of ADHD." Rupe: "You definitely have something!".They discuss ADHD and OCD. Bill wonders aloud if his inability to put saucepans away in the right order in the kitchen cupboard proves that he has sequencing problems. What else has he got?  Listen as Bill and Rupe provide some insight into their brains' inner workings, or lack thereof. They share anecdotes, offering each other advice, and provide a dash of their classic humour along the way. Join Bill and Rupe's Fairly Accurate Podcast every week for a dose of laughter, insights, and delightful banter. If you suspect you might be a little neurodiverse yourself, this episode is a must-listen! The Sci-Fi Special!

Episode 1 of Bill & Rupe’s new podcast is here! In Episode 1, your hosts Bill and Rupe sit down with two passionate science fiction aficionados, Jane Moss and Paul Monks, better known as the talented folk duo Yonderland.  Jane and Paul proved to be true experts in their field, but don't underestimate Bill and Rupe—they held their own as die-hard Sci-Fi enthusiasts. Together, they journeyed deep into the vast expanse of sci-fi films, books, and TV series, leaving no wormhole unexplored. When it comes to must-watch films, they covered all the classics, from Blade Runner (all versions!) to the spine-chilling Alien (yes, the one with the unforgettable "belly burst"), The Abyss and The Arrival, but their conversation also veered into unexpected territories, with a surprising nod to the 1985 dystopian black comedy film Brazil, brilliantly directed by Terry Gilliam. Talk about traversing the multiverse of cinematic delights! Prepare your reading list for a warp-speed journey through the most recommended sci-fi books. Jane and Paul unleashed a tidal wave of suggestions, including the works of Robert J. Sawyer, the interstellar adventure Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, and the mind-bending Braking Day by Adam Oyebanji as well as mentioning China Miéville with Perdido Street Station, and the fantastical landscapes created by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman in The Truth, Mort, and Soul Music.  Of course, no sci-fi bookshelf would be complete without mentioning the mind-boggling tales of Oolon Calluphid, Douglas Adams, and a host of other extraordinary authors. When it came to the small screen, the dynamic quartet couldn't help but geek out over their favourite sci-fi TV shows. Expect to hear enthusiastic discussions about iconic series like Blake's 7, Babylon 5, Firefly, The X-Files, and Battlestar Galactica. But brace yourselves for the lesser-known gems that Jane and Paul dug up from the depths of the universe, such as Jason of Star Command, The Tripods, and Primeval.  Of course, no sci-fi episode would be complete without separate odes to the timeless behemoths of the genre—Star Trek and Doctor Who. Jane also unveiled her ingenious plan to defeat the Weeping Angels, while casually mentioning that she had the privilege of meeting the legendary Terry Pratchett. Meanwhile, Paul regaled the group with a captivating tale of his encounter with Doctor Who's iconic Jon Pertwee. Prepare for mind-bending anecdotes and geeky nostalgia! So strap yourselves in for a cosmic adventure of laughter, insights, and unexpected encounters. You won't want to miss this stellar episode of Bill and Rupe’s first podcast, where knowledge meets humour in the great unknown. Engage! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
