The very wicked ALS. It is one thing to hear about it, quite another to read about someone famous being stuck down by "Lou Gehrig's Disease". I was not prepared for visiting my sister-in-law in Stage 2 ALS.

Finally, after officially being diagnosed as Bipolar-2, I am retiring from my fourth career to concentrate on podcasting and writing my 9th book. I will now be known as "Bipolar Dad" and the new book is "Orbits".

So much chatter and so much attention diversion. Makes this ADHD-Dad dizzy. Add a lifelong struggle with Bipolar Disorder and you can find many thoughts are TOO many. 

Since my fourth retirement, I am focusing on three podcasts and Substack. I am also finishing up my 9th book, "Orbits" (Amazon). When the discussions about mental health develop, the volume decreases. Kind of like it is a secret.  We need to jump the stigma hurdle and talk, talk, talk about this.

Forget those Golden Years stories. 50% of retirees are heading back to work.

Now retired for the third time in my life. Twelve years as  school bus driver and my back and mental health can take no more. Add to that the VA has inally found me to be OFFICIALLY Bipolar-2. Now am working on my 9th book (Orbits) and lining up mental health speakin engagements in ND, SD, MN and Kansas City.

Black Ice is scary. It is the sheer glaze on freshly snowed on roads. Here, in Iowa i means lots of cars in the ditch.

The current ICE tragedy in Minneapolis will take a long time to fix. The trauma induced by the current dministation is scary. 

Bad news out of Minnesota, again. DHS officers, wearing ICE uniforms gunned down a 37yearold ICU nurse.

The Minnesota Fishing Season Opener My memories of getting ready and getting out on the lake for face-to-face chats with my Dad. The shared joy of stories from the past. An upbeat force in a life that needed a boost. The Ojibwa Tribe calls it "Living the Good Life!" This drops at the same time of the tragedy in Minneapolis, so I am suggesting that this 2022 memory is what is needed right now.

Covid is back...super flu is back...ne strains...surgery being cancelled because hospitals are full. have you had your vaccinaions???????

Happy New Year...Saturday...cold 20 degrees in Iowa...I am hoping my new homeless buddies at Central Iowa Shelter are OK...we have 795 homeless in Polk County...2,200 in the state of Iowa...750,000 nationwide! This podcast talks about how music helps us be human...and then there is a bug negative that did not hit the news...the suicide national hotline...988...the new administration has cut that line for LGBTQ folks! WTH!!!

After an ugly 2025, the new year looks brighter. After a very close call with hip replacement surgery I have been resurrected by a local chiropractor.  Hip injections, physical therapy and two doctor's opinions, I was scheduled for total left hip replacement on Nov. 17th. Really good insurance helps move that right along! A trip to a recommended chiropractor has me standing tall and feeling great.

The stories of sex abuse in the Catholic Church have been whispered about for years. There was an award winning movie about it, with an all-star cast.  This narration is a reading of an Op-Ed in the Washington Post by Mark Thiessen.

Since becoming 80% disabled (according to the VA), I am going to resurrect my podcasting career. Two efforts. Bipolar Dad and BUS BIZ. I also have selfpublished 8 books on Amazon

As a late blooming actor, I have launched a couple efforts and renewed others. As an actor I have been on stage at various times, starting with community theater. This past year I was in three commercials, two national filmed in Minneapolis and Kansas City, and a regional online presence for more than a year. I have now written 8 books.
