Though the experience went reasonably well, she grappled with a sense of disconnection from her baby post-birth, coupled with postpartum depression and anxiety. Her third pregnancy brought a shift in perspective. Uncomfortable with the options available, Michelle explored a different midwife recommended by friends. However, changes due to Covid left her questioning the need for external assistance. This realization led Michelle to embark on a unique journey—a Wild pregnancy and Freebirth.

Following advice, she contacted her midwife, and a visit to the hospital ensued. Although everything initially seemed normal, hospital policy urged her to stay.     Dominyque's Story ( A Hospital Birth and a Homebirth)

    Dominyque shares her experiences as a first-time mom, shedding light on the challenges and surprises that came with her pregnancies. At 24, Dominyque found herself navigating the complexities of childbirth. Unaware of her options, she underwent induction at 42 weeks, enduring a painful process with a foley balloon. Little did she know, she had the right to decline. With her water broken and the balloon still inside, she waited for hours at home, only to discover minimal progress upon returning to the hospital. At 1am the next morning she welcomed her son. For her 2nd birth she uses the same midwife from her first birth but ends up firing her at 40 weeks.     Marissa's Story (2 Hospitals Births and 1 Healing Homebirth)

    In this week's episode. Marissa's first pregnancy at 18 brought challenges with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) and positive Group B Streptococcus (GBS). Opting for a membrane sweep at 38 weeks led to false labor, a hospital visit with antibiotics, and a week later, another attempt with Pitocin, resulting in her daughter's birth the next day. In her second pregnancy, Marissa, despite heightened fear, returned to the same hospital. Experiencing natural labor while getting maternity photos done, she went to the hospital the next day for Pitocin but had more mobility. Her daughter arrived that night, accompanied by a frightening hemorrhage. For her third baby, Marissa desired a homebirth but faced challenges finding a midwife at 12 weeks with early bleeding.
