    Ivan Humble is an anti-hate campaigner and vocal activist in tackling radicalisation and extremism in the UK. He turned his life around by leaving the English Defence League (EDL), to begin working tirelessly to influence others to do the same and bridge severed relationships between communities and society. He now works with people of all faiths, ethnicities and religions to tackle hatred. This is the third part of his story.

    Ben

    Ben, who joined the Army at just sixteen, straight from a small village in Suffolk. What followed was a huge cultural shift into a ‘laddish’ environment where alcohol — and later drugs — became a way of coping with mental health struggles. That path led to serious personal consequences, including the breakdown of his marriage.During COVID, Ben reached a turning point. He chose sobriety, began focusing on his mental wellbeing, and started rebuilding his life. Today, he’s passionate about breaking the stigma around men’s mental health — and as a father, he’s determined to raise his son in a way that encourages emotional openness rather than silence.

    Drawing Conclusions Art - Matty

    Sometimes, finding the right path to healing can take years — and for some, it means creating your own. Matty knows that journey first-hand. Fourteen years ago, they were diagnosed with complex PTSD and, after struggling to find effective support, turned to art as a natural form of therapy. What started as a personal outlet became a community movement — Drawing Conclusions Art — a non-profit that promotes creativity as a tool for mental wellbeing.
