Episode 4: masterclass on quitting
Overdoing is toxic.Which is difficult to admit, coming from the generation that was specifically told to "go above and beyond".To overdo is to engage in excessive or unnecessary behavior beyond what is appropriate or reasonable for a given situation. It often involves taking things to an extreme. For example- overworking, overspending, or overindulging. Which leads to negative consequences and diminishing returns.Signs of overdoing:physical exhaustionneglect of personal responsibilitiesdeclining mental or physical health, diminished enjoyment or satisfaction from the activity Instead of overdoing, I challenge you,Do only what is askedTake breaksRecalibrate your intentionsAsk for help If you've done all these, yet continually find yourself in a cycle of overdoing, consider quitting. It may not be a popular opinion. & that's okay. Hear me out because context is everything. Quitting must be thoughtful It's no spontaneous act Perhaps you mediated. Prayed over it. Chat with your therapist about it. Given it ample time. Considered the necessary aspects. Still- it doesn't sit well with your soul. Quit.Support the showI am Erica Floyd. This is Brilliant Everyday Podcast-Creative, data driven, and concise talks that focus on living a higher quality life.
