Brown Sheep

“Brown Sheep” is a show dedicated to conversations with people who don’t fit the flock: adoptees, people of color, immigrants, and other marginalized voices in our community. Join the flock for connection and discovery in a space to understand our identity and cope with its unique challenges.

  1. 6

    Aubrey Cavitt - Adoption's Ghost

Aubrey Cavitt is a mother, video podcaster, and self-proclaimed nerd. As a young mother of two and pregnant with her third, Aubrey believed it would be best for the youngest to be adopted. In the aftermath, Aubrey discovered how losing a child in that way affected both her and all three of her children.

  2. 5

Christian Eulinberg - It's in the Family

Christian Eulinberg is a podcaster, movie buff, gamer, IT guy, and the son of an adoptee. His mother’s adoption story has always been a part of his life, not as an inherited identity but as a filter through which he sees the world. Join us as we discuss family reunions, adopting puppies, movie portrayals of adoption, and much more!

  3. 4

Isabella Hyer - Growing Up Too Fast

Isabella Hyer is a singer, songwriter, and one of my first friends in college. While Isabella isn't adopted, she's lived most of her life as the older sibling to an adoptee, her sister Sophia. Join us as we discuss maturing at a young age, the fun that comes with siblings, growing up with and raising adopted family, and much more.

  4. 3

Anna Lennon - Midwestern Casserole Asians

Anna Lennon is a biology student, ice skater, substitute teacher, and an adoptee. As two Asian individuals adopted by White parents, Anna and I are all too familiar with stereotypes. Despite sharing similar upbringings, we find ourselves holding different yet complementary viewpoints on life. Listen in on our conversation about Asian expectations, religious belonging, casseroles, plankton, and much more!

  5. 2

Molly Suess - When the Stars Aligned

Molly Suess is a full-time content creator, hip-hop dancer, and adoptee. While we’ve been friends for some time, it took us months to realize we were both adopted while talking over dinner. What started as a friendly reunion sparked a conversation, and ultimately this podcast. Join us as we talk about Imposter Syndrome in racial identity, meeting birth parents, adoptees adopting, Vietnamese soup, and much more!

  6. 1

Isaac Wetzel - First of the Flock

Adopted and left-handed, I live in a world not made for me. I’m Isaac Wetzel, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been the “Brown Sheep” in a White, Christian, Midwestern suburbia. Until college, I never questioned my identity. In a world that feels foreign, I’m exploring what it means to be different and how to make the most of it. As the first official Brown Sheep of the flock, I’d like to start the conversation with a bit about me and my experience being adopted.
