Building New Homes in 36 Hours! - How to Fix Housing Affordability in Canada
In our last video, we explained some of the hurdles Torontonians face in creating supply in the housing market. We're hindered by zoning laws and long processing times for permits. However, these obstacles can be overcome by re-introducing a strategy first implemented in the 1940s as part of the war effort. The government created WarTime Housing Limited, which bought land and acted like a developer and priced units for moderate incomes. Can this strategy work in modern times?
