Sergie - Blame De Whine {Jolly Roger Riddim} [Saint Lucia Soca 2019]
On her way out of the door in her 2008 hit “Single Ladies”, Beyoncé tells her former lover “If you liked it/ you should have put a ring on it”. That line is where “Blame De Whine” from Sergie starts off. In her case, and for this bashment soca, her ex is missing everything that came with the finger he failed to lock down. He’s hooked like he’s on phonics and “missing de aerobics”. This is a whine on a body that is clean and needs no ‘biotics, a “bumpa so sweet have de man them stiff” with the ability to produce a “rapid burst when ah jiggle on yuh gear stick”. Call it gros pwel, regret or just missing someone but this whine has the man following Sergie around, almost like he’s going mad. It’s the impact of her waist and she wants you to hold on and enjoy the ride. “Blame De Whine” is written by DSean Germaine and featured on the Jammin’ Entertainment Jolly Roger Riddim.

Sergie - I In Dat {Temptation Riddim} [Saint Lucia Soca 2017]
Sergie has officially opened her 2017 Soca Season with “I In Dat” on the Ransum Records Temptation Riddim. Written by Sergie’s frequent collaborator Presley “Scottish” Scotland, “I In Dat” was recorded by Desmond “Ransum” Auguste and mixed and mastered by Saint Lucian born-Canadian based producer Johann “Yogi” Deterville. Building on her 2016 season where she placed second in the Just 4 Fun Soca Switch competition and was a finalist in the Groovy Soca Monarch, Sergie is ready to claim her place among the elite in soca music. Boldly declaring herself a “Soca Diva” she claims, “when it comes to fete/I in Dat/ when it comes to jamming/ I in Dat/ when it comes to iron (iron)/ dem call me de Boss that I am/ when it comes to liming/anywhere I liming/when it comes to soca (soca)/ I working it proper (properly). And its not only about her good time – she invites all, especially the Soca Divas like her to “show off your waistline/right now is the time” because Carnival is indeed our time - To Fete. And Lime. “It’s time to bounce, bounce” because “music inviting all ah we”. The latest release from Sergie, “Controlla (No Escape)” is a power soca song featured on the Startrax Studio Spanish Flyy Riddim. The song is written, produced, mixed and mastered by Presley “Scottish” Scotland. This is the second release from Sergie for Saint Lucia Carnival 2016. Designed for road, fete, lime or stage “Controlla (No Escape)” has breathers to ensure you keep up with its pace. Sergie has a certified hit with her earlier release “Rum & Iron” and is bringing the same firepower to this power soca track whose music she says has taken control of her body. And, despite the fever she caught from “Controlla (No Escape), Sergie is “happy to be alive” as will you be when you “take a bounce on the speaker/ to the base and the guitar” on this one.

Sergie - Rum & Iron [Saint Lucia Soca 2016]
Welcome to Sergie’s party where “everything really nice and everyone feeling irie”. Feel free to indulge and stay for a while enjoying some “Rum & Iron”. This is the first release for Saint Lucia Carnival 2016 from Sergie. “Rum & Iron” is written, produced, mixed and mastered by Presley Scotland of Startrax Studio. Sergie is still relatively new to the game but has been doing this since she took Saint Lucia and the world by storm with her first hit “Doh Tell Me Nutten” (2012). The lone female to win the Piton Soca Starz competition which she did in 2011; she has since competed in the Finals of the Power Soca Monarch competition as well as performed locally and in the UK. Blessed with a smile as infectious as her stage performance, she is not afraid to push the envelope as she proves yet again with “Rum & Iron”. This is groovy music for grown folks and is best enjoyed with a glass of rum and just enough iron on the side to make your time here "interesting".
