Episode 3: You Are Not Surplus
This episode of Changers & Launchers explores what it really means to begin again, not just professionally but psychologically and emotionally, using the story of a man who “knew what it meant to build” to reframe how we think about success, identity, and impact. It walks listeners through the hidden weight of transitions, explaining how cognitive load, financial uncertainty, and loss of familiar structure place real demands on the brain, making even simple tasks feel overwhelming, while also grounding that experience in research and lived reality. At the same time, it offers practical tools for navigating that space with clarity and integrity, from inventorying your skills and identity to balancing well-being with forward momentum. The value of this episode is that it does not just tell you what to do next, it helps you understand what is happening inside you while you do it, so you can move through change with more awareness, less self-doubt, and a clearer sense of what you are actually building.Check out our sponsor: Little Frontier Resort at littlefrontierresort.com

Episode 2: From Cab to Spaceship: A Story of Career Reinvention
I recently sat down with my dad for an interview for my upcoming podcast. First arriving to the US mainland from Puerto Rico as a child with spotty command of the English language, has worked as a cab driver, a gas station attendant, a Disney security guard, and a stock trader, and he now owns a short-term rental resort on 17 acres that recalls the theme parks of Central Florida, spaceship included; his path emblematic of the classic American dream. I went in thinking we would talk about the podcast and why he encouraged me to start it. What came out of that conversation was something I have been trying to say to people I work with for years, just through a wildly different lens.My father never had a career in the traditional sense. He had a series of unrelated jobs, and with those disparate pieces, he built something remarkable.Check out our sponsor: Little Frontier Resort at littlefrontierresort.com

Episode 1: Fear Engineered
Fear does not motivate excellence. Introduces the theme of fear in career transitions. Using the pop culture example of Scarecrow from the Batman universe, Omar explores how fear grows in vague and imagined spaces and often paralyzes both people who want to launch something new and those who know they need to change direction. The episode walks listeners through what fear and paralysis look like in real career decisions, reframes fear as useful information rather than weakness, and offers practical questions and small actions that help people move forward even when they do not feel ready. The episode closes with an invitation to name fears clearly, examine what they are protecting, and begin taking the next step toward change.Check out our sponsor: Little Frontier Resort at littlefrontierresort.com

Episode 0: Welcome to the Series
There’s a version of you that got you here. The degree. The first job. The early wins. And then, quietly, there’s another version of you beginning to emerge. One that’s asking different questions. One that’s no longer certain the current path reflects who you’re becoming. Most people don’t talk about that space. In this opening episode of Changers and Launchers, Omar introduces the purpose behind the series and the deeper reality of career transition—not as a tactical problem to solve, but as an identity shift to understand.Drawing from his own path as a first-generation college graduate, youth mentor, classroom teacher, and higher education leader, Omar explores the moments when outward progress and internal alignment begin to diverge—and what it means to respond to that honestly. You’ll also be introduced to the core framework that will guide the series: the three layers of meaningful career transition—external, internal, and narrative—and why lasting change requires clarity across all three. This episode lays the foundation for future conversations, solo reflections, and interviews with professionals who have navigated reinvention, recalibration, and new beginnings. If you’ve ever felt the quiet realization that something is shifting—even if you couldn’t fully name it yet—this podcast lives in that space. In this episode, you’ll learn:Why career misalignment is not failure, but informationThe hidden identity work behind professional transitionsThe difference between changing roles and changing narrativesWhat it means to be a “Changer” and a “Launcher”What to expect from future episodes of the seriesChangers and Launchers is for early-career professionals building intentionally, mid-career professionals sensing a shift, and anyone launching something new with purpose.Subscribe to follow the journey.
