    S2 Episode 8: Shades of Sisterhood

    Last episode of season 2! In this episode, we talk about our perspectives as an older and younger sibling, the change in parental dynamics towards to the youngest sibling especially in a black household. We also touch on how our sibling relationship at our current ages and the lessons it’s taught us. As always, it’s sealed with a game of word association and high notes!

    S2 Episode 7: Friendship Chronicles

    We’re back with the second to last episode of the season. In this episode we explore the complexities of friendships as black girls navigating in a predominately white area, as well as the importance of diversifying our friendship groups. We also discuss the struggles we faced growing up being the only black people in our school from primary all the way to university and most importantly, friends speaking up and defending you during difficult times when you feel silent as a POC.

    S2 Episode 6: So, Where Are You From?

    POV: You’re a POC and you’re asked one of the most popular questions when first meeting someone.  In this episode we’re discussing and differentiating ethnicity, nationality and race. We also explore when people ask certain questions, they’re really meaning something else (i.e your heritage and culture).

    S2 Episode 5: Is It Because I'm Black?

    After being M.I.A, we’re back with another episode of the season.  Today we’re discussing all things stereotypes, misconceptions and preconceived notions about black people and how we as a race have been and still can be perceived by other people.. and sometimes even our own ourselves. As always, we touch upon our own personal experiences and opinions about ‘playing into’ the stereotypes as well as where these things have stemmed from.

    S2 Episode 4: Don't Touch My Hair Pt.2

    Episode 4, the second and final part of the hair series. In this episode, we discuss the variation of hairstyles we have tried over the years as well as the topic of social media influence of hair care and different hair styles, the treatment of hair within different cultures and races. As usual, we end with on our high notes and game for the episode. We also would love to hear your thoughts on what you as our listeners should be called, so please leave any of your suggestions below!

    S2 Episode 2: 999, what’s your emergency?

    **TRIGGER WARNING FOR THIS EPISODE** Two of Two! We’re back with our second episode of season 2 discussing all things health. From seasonal depression to mental health and how its become more socially acceptable to speak about within society and younger generations as well as how its perceived within the Black community, to physical health and how people can be treated differently when seeking medical help depending on their skin colour. We also open up about our own mental health struggles faced while growing up and tips on how we overcame it.

    S2 Episode 3: Pass Me The Aux

    In this episode, we’re talking all things music. From our 2023 Spotify wrapped, to our favourite genres and artists, to how music can evoke certain emotions and memories. We also discuss expanding our music palettes differing from the stereotypical ‘white people music’ and ‘black people music’ as well as touching on the types of genres played in the clubs in Wales. Tune in to hear who wins in our game segment and our answer for the main question of the week; If you got passed the aux, what songs would you play?

    We’re back for a new seassonnn! Join us for our first episode back where we discuss our 2023 highlights, new year’s resolutions, the ups and downs of finding identify after graduating as well as our top 2023 tv shows/movies. We also ask an interesting thought provoking question for you guys and we want to know your answers!

    PSA: there is use of some racial slurs referring to black people in this episode. Hello, hi and welcome to the last and final episode of Season 1!In honor of Black History Month, we explore and navigate the change of terms to describe people of colour, the use of racial terms used by people outside of the Black and Asian community, the lack of change within school curriculums and being within our blackness and finding our identity while living in the suburbs as well as black culture.

From feeling ignored, unacknowledged and downright disrespected to fetishization of Black and Asian people.
