This song is about bullying and how I got through it; My story is throughout high school I was bullied the whole time, the only thing that was there for me was music. So I overcame my difficulties with listening/writing/producing music and because of that I am here now the happiest I have ever been. I'm thankful for my journey in life, as I have so much to write about. I want to inspire and motivate people to overcome there biggest obstacles as I have overcame one of mine. Muffin man vs the alien invasion is an experimental electronic piece, using self made and home recorded sounds. The focused technique used in this piece is the use of variation as each section has something new about it, whether it’s a brand new texture, recording, vocal line and time signature, the use of a free form structure gives the piece the ability to use variation as a technique as well. The plot line behind the piece is that it's a video game type soundtrack about an alien attack and robots/transformers and saving the human race, and just other side stories, like normal everyday things we do get controlled and taken over by an alien race. Then like Megatron starts attacking and weird stuff going down, and there is a cool face down between super hero's like superman, the muffin man and captain falcon vs the deceptions and the aliens.Then a person get's teleported back to sort of the real world from these fantasy world and he's going through flashbacks and trying to explain what the hell happened to him but nobody believes him. The songs inspiration came from being in a production session with an audio engineer at AIM, we were discussing freedom of music, making what you want and not caring about what others think, just creating music that you enjoy. So from there on, I was motivated to start experimenting with creating sounds and textures, this is where the robotic sounds came from. The vocals recordings came from my home recording studio where I produced my brother and my father, I did multiple takes with different distances so the microphone would pickup some interesting textures. I also recorded samples using my mobile phone, in areas such as a bus stop, which I learned a lot from doing. Furthermore the song was created and produced through Ableton live 9.
