    Help! What do I do if my child is in trouble? Digital Citizenship and the Law

    In his work as a School Resource Officer (SRO), Sgt James Wilde sees first hand the negative impacts of social media and its misuse. Learn ways that parents can support children in making positive decisions about social media and digital communication. Topics will include: sharing of intimate images; how parents, students, school and police can work together to create safe spaces for all students; and our digital footprint and the impact that can have in our lives will also be discussed.

    Social Media’s impact on the Mental Wellness of Children & Youth: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!

    In this episode, Dr. Maryam Mehtar assists in our understanding of both the negative and positive impacts that social media is having on our young people's mental wellness, and tips for caregivers to minimize the negative effects that social media may have on children and youth. Additionally, this episode will refer to the authentic results from a GSCS Survey completed by youth in Grades 6-12 regarding their reality of social media usage.

    Let’s RAP about Cyber Bullying: Tips for Parents and Students

    In this episode, Restorative Action Program (RAP) representatives Darren Bohmann and Dean Rutten discuss cyberbullying and the impact it has on students. The conversation explores different tactics that are used when students are the target of cyberbullying and provide some tips on how parents and caregivers can support children.
