Dark Moon
From Album EP: Girl by the Name of Girl Vocals, Guitar & Percussion: Colleen Lovejoy Violin: Shannon McCracken Mix: Ghian Wright Without him I am a dark moon Don't know where he's gone, hope he comes back soon And we could talk about it and I will glow once again I live on the fence, one side is loving him The other, an institution for the unsound Can't we talk about it And I will climb my fence once again I was a runaway I ran from pain, from love into his arms And no tear I shed, will make him need me like I need him All his compassion is gone It's in my teeth I'm still incomplete Make him hold on to me, hold Make him, make him hold on Without him I am a dark moon Don't know where he's gone, hope he comes back soon And we could talk about it and I will glow once again All his compassion is gone It's in my teeth I'm still incomplete Make him hold on to me, hold on Make him, make him, make him Hold on, hold on, hold on Without him I am a dark moon Don't know where he's gone, hope he comes back soon And we could talk about it and I will glow once again

Ten Million Years
[Ten Million Years] is the song that would give birth to my #LyricalProtest campaign. I wanted to contribute to the soundtrack of the new civil rights movement and this is what was in my heart. Credits: From the EP Album: Girl by the Name of Girl EP Album Release Date: 7/19/17 Available at: colleenlovejoy.bandcamp.com Vocals and Guitar: Colleen Lovejoy Guitar: Collin Shakespeare Mix: Ghian Wright Lyrics: Thank you heaven for this melody Thank you stars for shining down on me Thank you fire for burning my sins Thank you salt and water, I dive and I cleanse I know not my Lord, if we're the only ones I'm a slave to their hearts, my daughter and son And justice, I search for it still We called them for help, but they came and they killed I know not my Lord, if we're the only ones But it hurts when there's love, and it hurts when there's none It's been ten million years of man-to-man cruelty Was it part of the plan, will it always be I know not my Lord, if we're the only ones I'm a slave to their hearts, my daughter and son And justice, I search for it still We called them for help, but they came and they killed I know not my Lord, if we're the only ones But it hurts when there's love, and it hurts when there's none It's been ten million years of man-to-man cruelty Was it part of the plan, will it always be It's been ten million years, of man-to-man cruelty Was it part of the plan, will it always be

With Guns (ft. Thundercat)
Written after a young man was shot and killed across the street from my house. The next day there was no news of it. I called the police department and there was no record of it. I couldn't help but think that if this young man's skin had been a different color, his death would have made the news-- let alone a police report. Dedicating this one to Tamir Rice and the countless others whose names are unknown, whose stories are untold and whose lives were taken too soon. Album: Blush Attack Release Date: 1/31/17 Produced & Engineered by Ghian Wright Vocals: Colleen Lovejoy, Noni Limar and P.C. Willis Bass: Thundercat Drums: Paul Allen Guitar: Collin Shakespeare Keyboard: PC Willis LYRICS Do I have to leave now I don't know where I'll run to One man fell down, he is nowhere around Two men fell down, they are nowhere to be found Two women fell down, someone tell me where they are now That poor boy, how he laid on the ground With guns, they shot him down I enjoyed your party Stood beneath the palm tree One man fell down, he is nowhere around Two men fell down, they are nowhere to be found Two women fell down, someone tell me where they are now That poor boy, how he laid on the ground With guns, they shot him down With guns, with guns, with guns, they shot him And he lay, and he lay, and he lay down
