Episode 16 - Writing a Brave New Ending, with My Sister Jamie Crispin
“When we deny our stories, they define us. When we own our stories, we get to write a brave new ending.”—Brené Brown For better and for worse, nothing shapes our lives like family. In this intimate final episode of the season, Sarah invites her sister Jamie on the podcast to discuss their own family story. Together, they touch on the dynamics they grew up with, how life events tested these dynamics, and how reflection provides the opportunity to write a brave new ending. Episode 14 - Rewiring the Subconscious Mind with Hypnotist Penny Chiasson
In today's episode, award-winning hypnotherapist Penny Chiasson takes us on a special journey deep into the mysterious world of the subconscious. This part of the mind starts absorbing environmental input at birth to shape our early habits and values--long before we are even consciously aware. In fact, it is our top three to five subconscious values that drive all of our decisions as adults! This can be a good thing, unless our unconscious values and beliefs are at odds with whatever we are trying to consciously create. Hypnosis is one way to change that. It can be used to actively reprogram our subconscious mind for the life that we want. And it begins with something as simple as changing our self talk. Drawing from her many years of expertise, Penny explains what hypnosis actually is, the kinds of hypnosis available (spoiler alert: you can even do it to yourself), the incredible results she has seen, as well as its limitations. Knowledge is power. And this illuminating episode helps us answer the very difficult question: are we living the life that we want? Or the life we we've been programmed for? Episode 13 - Actress Cassandra James and the Radical Act of Softness
Cassandra James is a proud Chinese-American actress, filmmaker and healer who grew up in Canada. She is most known for her break out role on ABC’s “General Hospital” playing Dr Terry Randolph, which made her the first out trans woman to have a recurring role on daytime TV. In this episode, Cassandra talks about what it’s like to navigate the film industry, how the acting strike affected her in 2023, and how she pivoted during that down time to co-write, executive produce and star in “Claude,” her debut film which tackles the sensitive subject of woman’s resilience in the face of sexual violence. Cassandra talks candidly about the profound beauty of living with intention and authenticity and the radical choice of showing up with softness in a world that is hardened. With Chinese New Year rapidly approaching on February 10th, Cassandra gives us a taste of Chinese astrology with an on-air reading from her Five Elements Oracle Cards. She explains how this Year of the Dragon marks the beginning of new 20 year cycle that will usher in a return to Yin energy and the Divine Feminine. This is a powerful and informative episode that encompasses Cassandra's perspective as an artist, the art of healing, the need for spirituality, and the nuances of the trans feminine experience. Episode 12 - Understanding Attachment Styles
As infants, all of us look to form a connection with our primary caregivers (usually our mothers). The quality of that attachment then forms the foundation for all other relationships. Many times, issues in sustaining adult relationships can be understood through the lens of a person's own attachment style. Attachment style theory was first proposed in 1958 by British psychologist John Bowlby and includes four main categories. Sarah and Rishi dissect these four attachment styles in today's episode and even open up about their own. Their discussion covers how attachment styles may be an evolutionary development to ensure survival, how secure attachment style is the 'gold-standard,' and how non-securely attached individuals CAN become more secure over time through awareness and persistence. This especially illuminating episode of Conscious Quest addresses a topic that is often overlooked and undervalued, but has the potential to deeply inform a person's unconscious patterns. Episode 8 - Sacred Sites
People have taken pilgrimages to sacred sites for millenia, in search of healing, inspiration, or the divine. But is a site sacred just because we say it is? Or is there something more substantial to it? Author and sacred site researcher Freddy Silva says it comes down to magnetic resonance. He theorizes that the magnetic resonance of certain places interacts with our own in such a way which allows us to become co-creators. Thus, places of worship can truly become places of WORKship. In this episode, Rishi and Sarah discuss sacred sites around the globe like Sedona and its many vortexes, the ancient city of Varanasi, Gobekli Tepe, the fire temples of Iran, Ayokigahara Forest in Japan, and the Egyptian Pyramids. As they recount their experiences in these elevated spaces, decide for yourself if you believe the sacred truly exists.

Episode 5 - Joseph Campbell and the Hero's Journey
Joseph Campbell was an influential American author and professor of literature who focused on comparative religion and mythology. He is also the originator of the famous phrase "Follow your bliss!" In this episode, Sarah and Rishi break down the hero's journey, discuss the value of myths in modern life, and why old myths need to be updated. In a world that struggles to understand the intangible and what emanates from our subconcious, the value of Joseph's work cannot be underestimated. Enjoy!

Episode 4 - 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture with Rocky Roggio
What if the word “homosexual” was never meant to be in the BIble? In this episode, Sarah sits down with director Sharon “Rocky” Roggio to discuss her award-winning documentary 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture. At the center of this film is Roggio’s complicated relationship with her father, a conservative pastor who refuses to accept that his daughter is gay. Their relationship takes a new twist when they both meet Kathy Baldock, a researcher who posits that the original Greek words in the so-called “clobber verses” of the Bible were most likely taken out of context. Baldock agrees to join Roggio and a team of filmmakers in an independent investigation that leads them to the library at Yale University, where the original translation committee archives still exist. What they discover there surpasses all of their expectations. Currently sweeping awards at major film festivals everywhere, 1946 is positioned to make an unparalleled commercial and cultural impact.
