TV Tuesday: Hidden Gem or Comfort Watch? Patience vs Best Medicine

In today’s TV Tuesday, we’re diving into two very different but equally satisfying watches: Patience on PBS Masterpiece and Best Medicine. One is a hidden gem mystery with emotional depth, and the other is a chaotic comfort watch set in a small coastal town. We’re talking complex mysteries, strong character development, and what it looks like when a show makes you think versus when it lets you fully relax.Patience gives us layered storytelling, neurodivergent representation, and mysteries that require your full attention. Best Medicine leans into quirky characters, community vibes, and that familiar small town energy. This is one of those TV Tuesdays where you might find your next favorite show depending on the mood you’re in.And don’t forget, our Read It and Watch It pick for May is The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman, along with the 2025 Netflix adaptation. Cozy Mystery Thursday: Flower Shop Mysteries — Dearly Depotted | Wedding Chaos & a Locked Room Murder

In today’s episode of Cozy Comfort Club, I’m sharing my thoughts on Flower Shop Mysteries: Dearly Depotted, a Hallmark mystery released in 2016 that brings us back to New Chapel, Illinois, this time with a winter wedding, complicated family dynamics, and a locked room mystery at the center of it all.🎧 Spoiler NoteThis is a spoiler light review, so you can decide if you want to add it to your watchlist. This episode focuses less on what happens and more on how the mystery feels.Dearly Depotted still leans into a classic cozy mystery setup with a small town, familiar characters, and an amateur sleuth who cannot help but get involved, but this installment introduces a slightly darker tone, with higher emotional stakes, more tension between characters, and a mystery that unfolds within a chaotic wedding setting. At the center is Abby Knight, a former lawyer turned flower shop owner, who now fully steps into her role as an amateur sleuth, using her instincts and investigative mindset to solve a murder that happens during her cousin’s wedding weekend, while also navigating growing tension in her personal relationships.🔍 In This Episodethe overall feel of the mystery and how it compares to the first two films in the seriesthe shift in tone and why this one feels slightly darker while still staying within the cozy mystery lanethe wedding setting and why it adds drama, tension, and layered character dynamicsthe locked room mystery element and how it strengthens the classic whodunit structureAbby as a main character, her growth across the series, and how she fully leans into her investigative role in this installmentthe dynamic between Abby and Marco, including the ongoing romantic tension, repeated almost-moments, and why the relationship may feel stalled by movie threethe group dynamic between Abby, Marco, Nikki, and her dad, and how their teamwork continues to shape the investigationthe suspects, motives, and family connections, and how the mystery builds around past relationships, secrets, and unresolved conflictthe balance between cozy elements like the small town and flower shop with darker moments that raise the stakeshow this film compares to other cozy mysteries in terms of tone, pacing, and overall watchability💛 RatingsCozy Rating: 4.5 out of 5Movie Rating: 4.25 out of 5Overall Cozy Comfort Club Score: 8.75If you missed it, you can listen to my reviews of the first two movies in the series here:Cozy Mystery Thursday: Flower Shop Mysteries — Mum’s the Word | A Simple Cozy Mystery?Cozy Mystery Thursday: Flower Shop Mysteries — Snipped in the Bud | A More Layered Cozy Mystery?🎧 Listen and ConnectFollow Cozy Comfort Club for more cozy watches and thoughtful reflections:Substack: cozycomfortclub.substack.comApple Podcasts or SpotifyInstagram: @cozycomfortclubDiscussion about this episode This is a public episode. In this episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on the Hallmark spring premiere I’ll Be Seeing You, a cozy road trip romance filled with unexpected detours, sentimental moments, and a charming opposites-attract pairing. We’re diving into character dynamics, emotional storytelling, and whether the romance and cozy atmosphere are enough to carry a story that leans more on feeling than plot. This one is all about timing, second chances, and slowing down, but does the character growth feel earned by the end?If you’re in the mood for a soft, feel-good watch with road trip vibes, cozy campfire moments, and a romance that builds through connection… this might be for you. TV Tuesday: The Forsytes Season 1 Finale — Love, Control, and Walking Away (Spoilers)

In today’s TV Tuesday, we’re diving into The Forsytes season 1, episode 6 on PBS Masterpiece, where everything finally comes to a head and the tension we’ve been feeling all season starts to break open. This episode really centers on the game of love—and whether love is something that gives freely or something that takes from others in order to exist. We see that play out across multiple relationships, from Soames tightening his control over Irene in more calculated ways, to Frances unraveling as she loses her grip on Jo, to Jo ultimately deciding what kind of life (and love) he actually wants. The emotional weight shifts here in a different way than episode 5. It’s still intense, but it feels more like a buildup of quiet decisions, confrontations, and consequences finally catching up to everyone. There’s also a strong sense of isolation. especially with Irene, as the idea of the “country house” starts to feel less like a home and more like something much more controlling. This is the kind of finale that doesn’t rely on one shocking moment, but instead lets everything simmer, unravel, and quietly set the stage for what’s coming next.⚠️ Spoiler NoteThis episode contains spoilers for The Forsytes season 1, episode 6.What I Talk AboutJo’s storyline, including his growing sense of clarity, his desire for a different life, and his decision to leave behind the expectations of his familyLuisa and the children, and what it means to build a life that feels safe, supportive, and realSoames and Irene’s dynamic, and how control continues to show up through manipulation, isolation, and emotional pressureThe “country house” and how it represents control rather than comfortFrances’ unraveling, her desperation to maintain control, and the ways she begins to act out as she loses itThe tense confrontation at Forsyte & Co., and what it reveals about power, reputation, and who really holds influencePhilip’s role in the episode, including his growing awareness of what’s happening and his connection to IreneThe gala, and how it reflects the emotional tension, unspoken truths, and pressure building across the familyThe reveal involving Harry Faulkner and how it adds another layer of mystery and family complexityCozy TakeawaysA more tense and emotionally layered finale with a quieter but impactful buildupStill visually cozy, with beautiful period details and settings that contrast with the emotional tensionRelationship dynamics that feel more intense, complicated, and in some cases uncomfortableA strong focus on control, autonomy, and the consequences of power within relationshipsA sense of transition—this episode feels like both an ending and the beginning of something newRatingsCozy Rating: 4.5/5 cups ☕Episode Rating: 4.75/5Rewatch Scale: 5/5Cozy ReflectionThis episode felt different for me, not necessarily heavier than episode 5, but more reflective and a little more unsettling in a quieter way. There’s still a strong theme of control here, but now we’re seeing what happens when that control starts to break. Frances is unraveling, Soames is becoming more obvious in his intentions, and Jo is finally stepping away from everything that’s been expected of him.I also kept thinking about the idea of love in this episode. What does it actually look like when it’s healthy? Because when you compare Jo and Luisa to Soames and Irene… the difference is very clear. One feels supportive and freeing, while the other feels restrictive and suffocating. And then there’s Irene… whose situation is becoming harder to watch. At this point, it’s not subtle. There’s a level of control and isolation that feels deeply uncomfortable, and it makes me wonder how her story is going to unfold next.At the same time, I’m still completely invested. The performances are strong, the tension is steady, and it feels like season 2 is going to open up even more of these dynamics.Let’s ChatAre you watching The Forsytes? What did you think of the finale….did it meet your expectations, or did you want something more dramatic?Whose side are you on right now: Jo, Frances, Irene… or someone else? And what do you think about Soames at this point? Read It and Watch It: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before | Spoiler-Light | Book or Movie… Which One Should You Choose?

In today’s episode of Cozy Comfort Club, I’m sharing my thoughts on To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, our April Read It and Watch It pick—a young adult romance that feels equal parts nostalgic, comforting, and a little messy in the best way. This is a spoiler-light discussion, focused more on how the story feels rather than breaking down every plot point. This episode explores both the 2014 novel and the 2018 film adaptation, comparing the emotional depth and nuance of the book with the atmosphere and charm of the movie. At the center is Lara Jean, a quiet, romantic, and deeply introspective teenager whose private love letters accidentally get sent out, setting off a chain of events that forces her to confront her feelings, her relationships, and her identity. In this episode:* the emotional impact of rereading and why this story feels more comforting the second time around* Lara Jean as a main character, including her personality, family dynamics, and connection to her Korean heritage* the role of grief within the family and how it shapes each relationship* the sister dynamic between Lara Jean, Margot, and Kitty, and how it influences the story* the love triangle and why certain dynamics, especially with Josh, felt a bit off this time* Peter as a character, including the fake dating trope and his emotional layers* high school dynamics and how everything feels heightened at that stage of life* key differences between the book and the movie, including plot changes and added scenes* the casting choices and why they worked so well, especially for Lara Jean and Peter* the visuals, music, and overall aesthetic of the film, and how it enhances the experience* the humor and standout moments that made the movie feel light and enjoyable* the deeper emotional conversations in the film, especially around grief and family* the shift in conflict in the movie and how it adds more intensity to the storyCCC Ratings:BookCozy Rating: 4.25Book Rating: 4.5Re-read Scale: 5MovieCozy Rating: 4.5Movie Rating: 5Rewatch Scale: 5Read It or Watch It:Both. Countdown to Christmas Cozy Edition: Our Christmas Journey (2021) — A Story That Hits Close to Home

In today’s episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on Our Christmas Journey (2021), a heartfelt holiday film starring Holly Robinson Peete that follows a mother navigating a new chapter for her autistic son while reconnecting with her ex husband.Set in a cozy small town just days before Christmas, this story blends familiar holiday elements like markets, wreath making, and family traditions with something much deeper. This is not just a Christmas movie. It is a story about transition, motherhood, relationships, and what it looks like to let go while still holding on.If you’re in the mood for something warm, meaningful, and emotionally honest, this might be for you.Quick note, my voice does get a little raspy in this episode because I was getting over being sick last week, so thank you for bearing with me.In this episode:First impressions and overall vibeMarcus and Lena’s bond, daily routines, and the transition into adulthoodThe family’s dynamics and the balance between protection and independenceMaya’s experience as a sibling and the emotional weight of feeling secondThe small town setting, guest house, and found family moments with Beth, Morgan, and HenryHope Hills Academy, independence, and Lena’s struggle to let goLena and Rick’s relationship, past tension, and quiet reconnectionPersonal reflections on parenting, fear, and real life experiencesCozy check, ratings, and whether this is a rewatch for meTropes:Single MomSecond Chance LoveFound FamilySmall Town ChristmasHoliday TraditionsComing of AgeFamily DynamicsEmotional HealingSibling PerspectiveCCC Ratings:Cozy Rating: ☕☕☕☕☕Movie Rating: ☕☕☕☕½Rewatch Scale: ☕Overall CCC Score: 9.5 out of 10Watch When:Watch when you want something deeply meaningful and emotionally grounded. This is a cozy Christmas movie, but it is not a light one. It is best watched when you have the space to really sit with it.Also a good nighttime watch if you want something calm and slow paced.Cozy Reflection:This is a very cozy movie in terms of setting and atmosphere.Christmas markets, wreath making, guest house stays, and quiet family moments all bring that warm holiday feeling. But emotionally, this one goes much deeper. It sits in that space where it is comforting, but also very real. Why This Story Matters:This movie felt personal. It is one of the few times I have seen something that reflects the real experience of raising a child with autism, while also trying to show up for your other children and maintain relationships. It is not just about autism. It is about life, responsibility, love, and the weight that can come with all of it.Let’s Connect:Have a recommendation or a comfort watch I should cover?Email: [email protected]: @cozycomfortclubListen and Follow:Follow and listen on your favorite platform:Apple PodcastsSpotifyor wherever you listenStay Cozy:Subscribe on Substack for weekly wrap ups, watchlists, and cozy content:cozycomfortclub.substack.comDiscussion about this episode This is a public episode. Forever (2025) First Impressions — Young Love, Nostalgia & Messy Feelings

In today’s episode, I’m sharing my first impressions of Forever (2025), a romantic drama based on Judy Blume’s novel, following two teenagers in Los Angeles, California reconnecting and navigating young love, identity, and everything that comes with growing up.This is a first impressions episode, so I’m not breaking down every single detail. I’m really focusing on the overall vibe, how it felt, and whether this is something you might want to add to your watchlist.Forever is set in 2017, and I’m not gonna lie… the nostalgia hit me almost immediately. From the house party, to the music, to those late night FaceTime calls, this really feels like a throwback to that specific time in life.At the center of it, we have Justin and Keisha. There’s something about their connection that just feels very natural. Very believable. It’s that kind of young love where you can tell it’s new, a little awkward at times, but also really genuine. But at the same time, this is not just a soft, easy romance. There are heavier themes here too. The show gets into things like public perception, shame, relationships from the past that still linger, and just figuring yourself out while everyone is watching. And I actually really appreciated how direct the show is. It is not sugarcoating anything. There is open conversation about race, there is a lot of unfiltered dialogue, and it feels very real in that way.One thing I also liked is how the story shifts perspective. It does not just stay with Justin. We move into Keisha’s world too, and that is where things start to feel a bit deeper and more layered. You start to understand why she reacts the way she does, especially with everything connected to her past relationship and how people continue to bring that into her present. So while there are definitely those soft, nostalgic, feel good moments, there is also tension. And that is kind of what makes this show interesting from a Cozy Comfort Club perspective. If you are someone who enjoys stories that feel a little more raw, a little more honest, and not perfectly polished, I think you might really connect with this one.In this episode:My first impressions of episodes 1 and 2, Reunion and Ghosted, and overall vibeJustin and Keisha’s connection, standout moments like the New Year’s Eve kiss and FaceTime scenes, and that high school nostalgiaThe shift from Justin’s perspective to Keisha’s and how that changes the toneKeisha’s past, public shame, and how it shows up in her presentJustin’s home life, his relationship with his parents, and that tension with his momThe music, the setting, and how it all adds to the feeling of the showCozy check, ratings, and whether this is something I would rewatchTropes:Young LoveComing of AgeHigh School RomanceSecond Chance ConnectionAthlete LeadsMessy RelationshipsPublic vs Private IdentityEmotional GrowthCity SettingNostalgia Driven StoryCCC Ratings:Episode 1, ReunionCozy Rating: ☕☕☕Episode Rating: ☕☕☕☕½Episode 2, GhostedCozy Rating: ☕☕☕☕¼Episode Rating: ☕☕☕☕☕Rewatch Scale: ☕☕☕☕Watch When:Watch when you are in the mood for something nostalgic and romantic, but not necessarily light. This is one of those watches where you might find yourself thinking about your own past a little bit. Early relationships, late night conversations, all of that. Not really a background show, but definitely something to sit with.Cozy Reflection:This one sits in that in between space for me.There are cozy moments. The connection, the nostalgia, the softness of certain scenes. But then there are other parts that feel a bit heavier and more tense. So not fully cozy, but still comforting in moments.Reminder Quick reminder, our Countdown to Christmas Cozy Edition episode drops tomorrow on the 25th.This is something we do every month because cozy does not have to be seasonal. For those of us who love that Christmas feeling all year long, this is just a way to bring a little bit of that comfort into every month.Let’s Connect:Have a recommendation or a comfort watch I should cover?Email: [email protected]: @cozycomfortclubCome chat with me over on Instagram. Cozy Mystery Thursday: Flower Shop Mystery - Snipped in the Bud | Still Cozy… But With More Tension

In today’s episode of Cozy Comfort Club, I’m sharing my thoughts on Flower Shop Mystery: Snipped in the Bud, a Hallmark mystery released in 2016 that brings us back to New Chapel, Illinois, this time with a more layered case, a college setting, and higher stakes for our amateur sleuth. This is a spoiler free review, so you can decide if you want to add it to your watchlist. This episode focuses less on what happens and more on how the mystery feels.Snipped in the Bud still leans into a classic cozy mystery setup with a small town, familiar characters, and an amateur sleuth who cannot help but get involved, but this installment introduces a slightly more tense tone, with Abby herself becoming part of the investigation in a much more direct way.At the center is Abby Knight, a former lawyer turned flower shop owner, who finds herself not just investigating a murder, but also being considered a suspect, which shifts the overall energy of the story. In this episode:* the overall feel of the mystery and how it compares to the first film in the series* the shift in tone and why this one feels a little less cozy but still comforting* the college setting and why academic environments work so well for mystery storytelling* Abby as a main character, her determination, instincts, and tendency to insert herself into situations* the dynamic between Abby and Marco, including his softer and more supportive presence and their ongoing tension* the group dynamic between Abby, Marco, Nikki, and her dad, and how it evolves in this installment* the suspects, motives, and structure of the mystery, and whether it keeps things engaging* the role of small town gossip and how it impacts both the case and Abby’s reputation* how this film compares to other cozy mysteries in terms of tone, pacing, and overall watchabilityIf you missed it, you can listen to my review of the first movie in the series here:Cozy Mystery Thursday: Flower Shop Mysteries — Mum’s the Word | A Simple Cozy Mystery?🎧 Listen and ConnectFollow Cozy Comfort Club for more cozy watches and thoughtful reflections:Substack: cozycomfortclub.substack.comApple Podcasts or SpotifyInstagram: @cozycomfortclub This is a public episode. TV Tuesday: The Forsytes (2026) Episode 5— Control, Consequences & Cracks Beneath the Surface

In today’s TV Tuesday, we’re diving into The Forsytes season 1, episode 5 on PBS Masterpiece, where everything starts to feel even more intense and a lot less contained. This episode really centers on control versus autonomy, and we see that play out across almost every character. From Soames tightening his grip on Irene, to Frances orchestrating events behind the scenes, to Jo trying (and struggling) to do the right thing, there’s a growing sense that no one is truly in control… even when they think they are.The emotional weight deepens here, especially with Luisa and the children, and the fallout from the Forsyte & Co. disaster adds another layer of tension that starts to spill into every part of their lives. This is the kind of episode that feels heavier, a little more chaotic, and definitely like everything is building toward something big.⚠️ Spoiler NoteThis episode contains spoilers for The Forsytes season 1, episode 5.What I Talk About* Jo, Luisa, and the children, and the emotional weight of responsibility, love, and consequences* Soames and Irene’s dynamic, and how control, manipulation, and power are becoming more obvious* Frances’ role behind the scenes and the lengths she’s willing to go to maintain control* June’s growing awareness of what’s really happening within the family* Philip’s background and the possibility of deeper connections still to come* The fallout from the Forsyte & Co. crisis and how it impacts both business and personal relationships* The contrast between love, obligation, and control across multiple relationships Cozy Takeaways* A more intense and emotionally heavy episode with higher stakes* Still visually cozy, with beautiful settings and strong period detail* Relationship dynamics that feel more tense, complicated, and at times unsettling* A strong focus on control, power, and shifting roles within the family* A clear sense that everything is building toward a major turning point RatingsCozy Rating: 4.5/5 cups ☕Episode Rating: 5/5Rewatch Scale: 5/5 Cozy ReflectionThis episode felt heavier for me, not just emotionally, but in the sense that everything is starting to feel more unstable. There’s a strong theme of control running through this episode, and it really made me think about what happens when people try to control situations, relationships, and even each other. Whether it’s coming from a place of love, fear, or status, it never really leads to peace.I’m also finding myself increasingly uncomfortable with certain dynamics, especially Soames. At this point, it’s not even subtle anymore. What might have once felt romantic now feels much more like control and manipulation. At the same time, I’m completely invested. There are so many moving parts, the performances are incredibly strong, and it really feels like we’re heading into a powerful finale.Let’s ChatAre you watching The Forsytes?Whose side are you on right now: Jo, Frances, or someone else entirely? And what do you think about Soames at this point… is there any redemption there, or not at all? Not-So-Cozy Mystery Thursday: Patience (PBS) — Dark, Eerie & Still Worth Watching?

In today’s episode of Cozy Comfort Club, I’m sharing my thoughts on Patience season 1, episodes 1 and 2 (“Paper Mountain Girl” parts 1 & 2), a British detective drama set in York that blends character-driven storytelling with a darker, more reflective mystery. This is a spoiler-light review, so you can decide if you want to add it to your watchlist. This episode focuses less on what happens and more on how the mystery feels.Patience is not your traditional cozy mystery. It leans more into detective fiction with heavier themes, but still carries a quiet, calm, and emotionally grounded atmosphere that makes it feel… cozy in a different way….what I like to call “cozy with caution.”At the center is Patience Evans, a records clerk who thrives on routine, puzzles, and structure, and whose ability to recognize patterns makes her an unexpected but essential part of a developing investigation. In this episode:* the overall tone of the series: darker, eerie, and reflective, while still maintaining a calm, steady pace* the setting of York, England, and how the architecture, bridges, and historic atmosphere add to the mood* Patience as a main character: her love of puzzles, need for routine, sensory sensitivities, and how she processes the world around her* how her pattern recognition connects multiple cases involving similar victims and suspicious circumstances* the dynamic between Patience and Detective Bea Metcalf, including curiosity, tension, and boundary-crossing moments* how overstimulation is portrayed through sound, visuals, and memory, and how that shapes Patience’s experience* the structure of the mystery: layered, pattern-based, and more about observation than fast-paced twists* how this series compares to traditional cozy mysteries and why it fits better as a “cozy-adjacent” or darker comfort watchAlso mentioned in this episode:The Marlow Murder Club by Robert Thorogood — a classic cozy mystery featuring a group of unlikely amateur sleuths, strong character dynamics, and a lighter, more traditional cozy tone. Also adapted into a PBS series and excellent on audio.🎧 Listen & ConnectFollow Cozy Comfort Club for more cozy watches and thoughtful reflections:Substack: cozycomfortclub.substack.comApple Podcasts / SpotifyInstagram: @cozycomfortclub This is a public episode. Rom-Com Wednesday: Mystery Piano & Small-Town Romance — A Little Park Music (Includes Spoilers)

Rom-Com Wednesday: A Little Park Music ReviewIn this episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on the Hallmark spring premiere A Little Park Music, a cozy small-town romance with a light mystery, a very memorable gazebo, and a classic opposites-attract pairing. We’re diving into character dynamics, community-centered storytelling, and whether the romance and overall vibes are enough to carry a plot that doesn’t fully land. This one is all about community, connection, and slowing down, but does the story match the cozy atmosphere? If you’re in the mood for a soft, easy watch with small-town charm and a slow-burn romance… this might be for you.Plus, I’m sharing a quick mini review of You, Me & Tuscany, which I recently saw in theaters. TV Tuesday: The Forsytes (2026) Episode 4 — Choosing Yourself vs. Family Expectations

In today’s TV Tuesday, we’re diving into The Forsytes season 1, episode 4 on PBS Masterpiece, where the tension continues to build beneath the surface. This episode really centers on choosing yourself versus choosing your family, and we see that conflict play out across multiple characters. From Jo trying to convince himself he’s at peace, to Soames becoming more intense in Paris, there’s a quiet unraveling happening throughout. The emotional weight also deepens here, especially with Luisa and the children, which shifts the tone slightly while still holding onto that soft, period-drama atmosphere. This is the kind of episode that lingers… the kind you want to sit with—or even unpack in a cozy watch club discussion. Spoiler NoteThis episode contains spoilers for The Forsytes season 1, episode 4. What I Talk About* Jo’s internal conflict, Luisa and the children, and the emotional weight of his choices* Soames and Irene’s dynamic, and the growing tension between romance and control* June’s impulsive engagement to Philip and the ripple effect within the family* Frances holding everything together on the surface while quietly unraveling* The shifting family dynamics around power, reputation, and expectation* The contrast between what appears calm on the surface and what’s really happening underneath Cozy Takeaways* A more emotionally heavy episode, especially with the children’s storyline* Still visually cozy with beautiful settings and period detail* Relationship dynamics that feel layered, complicated, and increasingly tense* A slower, character-driven episode that feels like it’s building toward something biggerRatingsCozy Rating: 4.25/5 cups ☕Episode Rating: 5/5Rewatch Scale: 5/5 Cozy ReflectionThis episode felt a little less cozy for me at times, mainly because of the children being sick. That just hits differently. But more than anything, this episode explores what it means to do the “right thing.” For many of these characters, what looks right on the outside doesn’t align with what they truly want or need.I’m also starting to feel more discomfort with certain dynamics, especially Soames. What may seem romantic on the surface is beginning to feel more controlling the closer we look.At the same time, I’m fully invested. The performances are strong, the tension is building, and it feels like these secrets are getting closer to the surface with every episode. In today’s episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on The Photograph (2020), a soft, romantic, and emotionally layered film starring Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield. This story moves between past and present, exploring love, memory, and the quiet weight of everything left unsaid. With a jazz-filled soundtrack, warm and moody visuals, and a relationship built on conversation and connection, this is a different kind of cozy, one that feels intimate, reflective, and deeply personal. If you’re in the mood for a romance that lingers a little longer and makes you sit with your feelings… this might be for you.And if you are, I also share a book pairing that carries a similar emotional depth—just a little heavier. In this episode:* First impressions, overall vibe, and why the visuals feel so soft and intentional* Mae & Michael’s chemistry, standout moments (that rainy apartment scene), and their conversation-driven romance* Family dynamics, Christina & Isaac’s past, and themes of grief, memory, and what’s left unsaid* My honest take on the London conversation* Cozy check, final ratings, and book pairing: Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson Tropes:* Slow Burn Romance* Dual Timeline (Past & Present)* Second Chance Love* Family Secrets* Opposites Attract* Grief & Self-Discovery* Artistic / Creative Leads* City Romance CCC Ratings:Cozy Rating: ☕☕☕☕½Movie Rating: ☕☕☕☕¾Rewatch Scale: ☕☕☕☕Overall CCC Score: 9.25/10 Watch When:Watch when you want something soft, romantic, and a little reflective. Episode DescriptionIn today’s TV Tuesday, we’re diving into The Forsytes season 1, episode 3 on PBS—and the tension is definitely rising in this one. From secrets starting to surface to power struggles within the family, this episode feels more intense while still holding onto that quiet, cozy period-drama atmosphere. Mr. Malcolm’s List | A Charming Regency Romance Worth Watching?

In today’s episode of Cozy Comfort Club, we’re stepping into the elegant Regency world of Mr. Malcolm’s List. This film has actually been on my watchlist for a while — it was released in 2022 — and I was really curious to finally see how this romantic story would unfold. The story begins when the very particular Mr. Malcolm gains a reputation for having a strict “list” of qualities that his future wife must meet. After being embarrassed by him, Julia Thistlewaite sets a plan in motion and convinces her friend Selina Dalton to pursue Mr. Malcolm… while secretly meeting every requirement on his list. But as Selina spends more time with him, the plan becomes more complicated than anyone expected. In this episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on the film’s elegant Regency setting, the themes of compatibility and friendship, and how pride and jealousy quietly influence several of the relationships in the story. We’ll also talk about what makes this film such a refreshing take on the period drama genre, especially with its diverse casting and charming romantic tone.So the real question becomes…Can love ever truly follow a perfect list?Let’s talk about it.Connect with Cozy Comfort ClubFollow along for cozy movie chats, comfort watches, and bookish conversations.Instagram: @cozycomfortclubSubstack: Cozy Comfort Club This is a public episode. In today’s Cozy Mystery Minisode, I’m sharing my first impressions of Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, the thirteenth movie in the Hannah Swensen Mysteries.Set in the small town of Lake Eden, the story follows baker Hannah Swensen, who somehow always finds herself solving mysteries between batches of cookies at her bakery, The Cookie Jar.When a hotel staff member named Brandi is found dead during a masquerade celebration for the grand reopening of a local hotel, Hannah begins looking into the mystery to figure out what really happened. In this minisode, I share my spoiler-free first impressions of the cozy bakery setting, the family dynamic between Hannah and her mom, the romance subplot, and why the mystery itself felt a little too easy for me to solve.Since this was my first Hannah Swensen mystery, I also talk about whether I’d continue the series and if this movie works as an entry point for new viewers.Join the Cozy ConversationHave you watched the Hannah Swensen mysteries?Do you have a favorite in the series?Let me know on Instagram @cozycomfortclub, and you can also subscribe to the Cozy Comfort Club newsletter on Substack for cozy watchlists and podcast updates. Thanks for listening!
