#8 Artful Living for Working Mothers, What's Holding You Back? - Stacey McKenna

In this episode, we’re joined by Stacey McKenna—a dedicated mother, teacher, and self-taught artist who believes that creativity is essential for personal well-being. Despite having no formal arts education, Stacey has cultivated her own art practice and is really interested in looking at ways that we can make the arts accessible and support everyone to engage with their creativity, regardless of background or experience. Stacey shares her journey of establishing and maintaining a regular creative practice amidst the demands of work and family life. We discuss the challenges she faced in finding time and space for art, and the strategies she uses to keep her practice alive and evolving. Stacey also delves into her vision for how workplaces and educational institutions can better support individuals in expressing their creativity and integrating it into their everyday lives. Whether you're a working mother, an aspiring artist, or anyone who wants to make more room for creativity, this conversation will inspire you to start building your own artful routine. 🧠 Join our Creative Minds Lab Facebook group to share and grow your creative practice:   / creative.minds.lab   📢 Interested in being our next guest? #7 Neurodiversity and The Power of Healing - Lisa Keegan-Hill and Sara Hood

Lisa Keegan-Hill and Sara Hood are ceramic artists who started their collaboration after graduating from the MA program at University of Central Lancashire. In this episode, you’ll hear about fascinating topics like our creative potential, trauma, childhood experience, overcoming creative blocks, healing and our power to make a beautiful change in the world. Lisa Keegan-Hill is an ex psychotherapist turned ceramic artist. Her masters degree was based on the unfolding of her creative process and the impact her childhood had on the struggle of owning her creativity. Lisa’s work is a mixture of her experience as a psychotherapist, a client and her commentary of what it is like to live in the crazy world we are living in. Sara Hood is a neurodivergent artist making work about living with neurodiversity (Autism, Dyslexia and the symptoms of ADHD) and PTSD and the challenges that brings. She does this in a way which turns a negative into a positive. Sara uses her work to inform people and encourage them to begin to have healthy conversations about the struggles they may have. It is her hope that this can bring change within society, which will help integrate people rather than marginalising them. She works in ceramic sculpture, installation, oil paintings, traditional print and drawing. Follow Lisa: Instagram:   / lisakeeganhillceramics   Website: https://lisakeeganhillceramics.weebly...
