Secrets to Podcast Longevity : Hacks and Free Tools

Hey there! In this episode, I dive into the challenges of maintaining a successful podcast, considering the industry's average lifespan and the 20% success rate. I share my personal journey of creating and sharing content on the internet, along with the tools and techniques I've found useful. Don't forget to join the conversation in the Creative Progress Facebook group—I'd love to connect with you there!I provide practical tips on how to stay consistent and simplify your content creation process. Creating a calendar is crucial for organized planning, and I recommend using free tools like Google Suite. I personally rely on Google Drive for storing audio files, Google Docs for scripting, and Sheets for calendars and to-do lists. Setting daily time limits, like my own 2-hour limit, helps combat procrastination.I introduce the concept of batch recording, explaining how planning and scripting in advance allow for recording multiple episodes in one go, ensuring consistency even during busy times. We also explore uploading and automating posting calendars using RSS feed hosting platforms, YouTube, TikTok, and the automation tool Zapier. As we wrap up, I reflect on the content creation journey, acknowledging its challenges. Dedication and strategic planning are key to breaking into that coveted 20% success rate. I encourage you to leverage the tools and techniques shared, focusing on organization, calendar creation, time management, batch recording, and automation. Building a dedicated fan base takes time, so stay committed, and share your experiences in the Creative Progress Facebook group. To show my appreciation for your engagement, I've included a link in the description to a Google Sheets Calendar and to-do list similar to mine. It's open for everyone to access and can be easily copied into your own Google Sheets. Keep that momentum going—the podcast world is waiting for your unique voice. Until next time, keep creating, keep progressing!
