A Supersized year-end episode! Dave and Ryan review the latest James Cameron release, Avatar: Fire and Ash. Does it live up to the hype of the other two movies? 2025 was a good year for the box office, and Dave and Ryan give you the rundown of the worldwide and domestic box office. These two watched a lot of movies this year, and they'll give you a rundown of their top ten.

This week, Dave and Ryan review the latest Knives Out Mystery- Wake Up Deadman starring Daniel Craig, Josh Brolin, and Glenn Close. Did Dave stay awake for this one? Tragedy struck Hollywood with the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife. Reiner had an eclectic film catalog, including one that is a staple in Utah. And with Christmas around the corner, Dave and Ryan talk about their must-watch movies at Christmas time.

This week, Dave and Ryan watched Jay Kelly, starring George Clooney and Adam Sandler, a story about an aging movie star riddled with regret. Autobiographical? You be the judge. Clooney has had an unbelievable career from his start on Facts of Life to his Oscar glory, and Dave and Ryan discuss. What's a hostile takeover? It's what Paramount is trying to pull on Warner Bros. Dave and Ryan give you the highlights (and lowlights).

This week, the boys discuss the new Michelle Pfeiffer holiday movie, Oh What Fun, on Amazon Prime. Is it fun? Then they dig into the Christmas Classic, Home Alone, released in 1990. Dave and Ryna wrap up the show by discussing Netflix and its attempted purchase of Warner Bros. Is it good or bad for Hollywood?

This week, Dave and Ryan review Wicked: For Good. Is it Wicked good, Wicked bad, or just Wicked OK? Tom Cruise was awarded an Honorary Oscar. Was it warranted?

This week, the boys talk about Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, now on Netflix. There are movies out there that some people think are Darn Near Perfect —are they, though? The holiday season is right around the corner, so we'll talk about upcoming releases for the family.  

Dave and Ryan made it to the theater and reviewed the latest Predator franchise entry, Predator: Badlands. Then, Todd Maetani joins us to discuss the use of color in film. Dave finally watched Akira, and Todd stuck around to discuss this piece of anime magic.

Welcome to Dave and Ryan's Movie Review Take 125. Let's talk about the newest release from Angle Studios, Truth and Treason. It's November, and that means lots of movies hitting theaters with Oscar aspirations. We talk about some that will make it and some that don't stand a chance.  Dick Tracy, a 35-year-old Warren Beatty film with an A-list cast, first hit the screens in 1990, which begs the question, "Does It Hold Up?"

This week, the boys talk all things Halloween, starting with the movie review of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, starring Paul Rudd in his first motion picture role. Every once in a while, you get a movie franchise that has just worn out its welcome. Is Halloween that franchise? Dave and Ryan talk about it in Too Many Sequels. Enough of the scary movies, let's talk about some family-friendly Halloween movies.

This week, we take a look at the life of John Candy, who died at age 43 in 1994, by talking about the Amazon MGM documentary I Like Me. We then dig into his filmography and share some of our favorite films. For the final segment, we talk about the movies of Diane Keaton, who passed away this week at 78.

This week, the boys talk about the new film from Matthew McConaughey, The Lost Bus, which was based on a true story of the Paradise Fire in California in 2018.  There are plenty of movies that are based on a true story. Dave and Ryan talk about some of them and how close they hit to the real story. Tron: Ares hits theaters on October 10, the third film in the series. Is it necessary?

This week, Ryan was busy, so he joined us to talk about Remember the Titans, starring Denzel Washington, as the movie turns 25 years old. After that, Dave welcomed local author Jason Olsen to discuss his new book, "Mark Gruenwald's Quasar: The Cosmic Gem of the Marvel Universe." Jason also attended FanX, taking part in panel discussions and being part of the chaos.

On this week's episode, Dave and Ryan talk about the movie Swiped, based on the lady who was a co-founder of Tinder and the founder of Bumble. Could it have been an email? Todd Maetani returns to the show to discuss the movie Demon Slayer, which has become a worldwide hit. Todd stays around, and we discuss the world of Anime.

With the passing of Robert Redford this week, Dave and Ryan talk about the man and his life as an actor, director, and activist.

This week, Dave and Ryan revisit Toy Story, which was released 30 years ago.  Pixar has been around a lot longer than you think. We deep-dive into the studio that has released 29 features since 1995. Last week, it was Venice; this week, we're discussing the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) and some of the films that were screened there.

This week, the boys tackle the Thursday Murder Club, new on Netflix. With a cast like this, it better deliver. The Venice Film Festival wraps up this weekend. With thousands of movies submitted and only 21 movies screened for competition, Dave and Ryan discuss a few notable ones. Just because summer is over doesn't mean that there aren't any good movies coming out this fall. They give you a rundown of some of the can't-miss films coming out in the final three months of 2025.

This week, the boys talk about the latest Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson movie, The Pickup, now available on Amazon Prime Video. The Pickup is a heist movie, and that got them talking about other movies where people steal stuff. The summer movie season ends on Labor Day, so Dave and Ryan talk about the top ten summer movies.

This week, Dave and Ryan discuss the upcoming movie starring Bob Odenkirk, Nobody 2, which is expected to be full of violence. Dave's gonna love this one.  Do you have a film that you love, but when you try to talk to people about it, they look at you like you're wearing a fruit hat? Dave and Ryan have some and will talk about their favorites.  The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie turns 35 years old this month. Dave and Ryan talk about the "Heroes in a Half-Shell"

This week, the boys talk about the Naked Gun. Does it stand up to the originals? School is in session, and it's time to talk about High School Football movies. Should you watch the new War of the Worlds starring Ice Cube on Prime, Dave lets you know.

This week, we review Death of a Unicorn starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, now available on HBO Max. Yes, they're real. We spent the last two segments talking about Fantastic Four: First Steps with Michael Harris and Jason Olsen, and we all have some thoughts.

This week, it's like doublemint gum, double your pleasure and double your fun with a pair of movie reviews. First up is Happy Gilmore 2, on Netflix. Is it a hole-in-one, or did they shank it in the woods? The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released in theaters this week. Here was Marvel's chance to do the First Family right. Did they? We got a sneak peek at Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein's monster in del Toro's Frankenstein, which will release on Netflix this fall. Will it be released in theaters as well, so it can be eligible for Oscar consideration, or does it just plan on winning the Toronto International Film Festival? The boys discuss.

This week, Dave and Ryan tackle "The Replacements," which turns 25 years old in 2025. Why is Johnny Utah going by the name Shane Falco now?  Then, there have been some movies that were so bad that they only lasted one or two weeks in theaters; the boys discuss. The Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson, is being released in theaters soon. Did you know that the story of Frank Drebin and Police Squad dates back to 1982?

This week, the boys discuss the action-comedy film "Heads of State," starring John Cena and Idris Elba. Fantastic Four hits theaters on July 25, so we bring in Michael Harris, a local Fantastic Four aficionado, to talk about Marvel's First Family. Happy Gilmore 2 is also set to hit Netflix on July 25, and we couldn't be more excited.

This week, the movie that Dave has been waiting for was released: James Gunn's Superman. Does Ryan share Dave's enthusiasm for this one? Then did you hear they're going to do a complete reboot of Night At The Museum? That got the guys thinking about sequels and reboots. Do you have a favorite? Then they wrap the show up this week, talking about Jaws at 50. I think we're going to need a bigger show!

This week's episode features a pair of movie reviews: F1: The Movie, starring Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem, and Jurassic World: Rebirth, starring Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali. As far as they are concerned, there is a clear winner. Next week, we get a glimpse of James Gunn's vision as Superman returns to the big screen, so the boys talk about the Man of Steel.

This week, Dave and Ryan discuss 28 Years Later, the long-awaited sequel from Danny Boyle, even without Cillian Murphy; I think they liked it.  Jurassic World: Rebirth hits theaters July 2, so there is no better time to revisit the franchise, "Welcome to Jurassic Park" (music swells). The Fourth of July is next week, so Dave and Ryan will share their favorite Patriotic movie choices.

This week, we were live on YouTube and Facebook, so a full video of the show is available as we discuss Angel Studios' latest release, The Last Rodeo, starring Neal McDonough. Angel Studios seems to have sprung up overnight, so we look into the studio's beginnings in Provo, which has been producing family entertainment since 2021. Does it seem like there are a lot of live-action CGI hybrid movies that were once animated classics? We talk about them to close out the show.

This week, Dave and Ryan discuss the latest installment in the John Wick franchise, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, which definitely kept them on their toes. The final two segments are spent talking with Ryan's friend, Todd Maetani, a professor of Film and Media, who discusses script writing and character development.

This week, the boys watched "The Fountain of Youth". Was the reward worth the journey? John Krasinski has become quite the filmmaker since his days as the affable nitwit Jim Halpert on The Office. Dave and Ryan discuss his career as an actor, director, and writer. Next week, the CGI-live action remake "How to Train Your Dragon" is released in theaters, so our two affable nitwits talk about the franchise.

This time, the boys talk about the movie Psycho as it celebrates its 65th anniversary. Then they get into the "Master of Suspense," Alfred Hitchcock, and we close out the show talking about Ballerina and the world of John Wick.

This week, Dave and Ryan review The Final Reckoning, the latest installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Is it the final time we will see Ethan Hunt on the big screen? Then, they dive into the world of the IMF team, which has spanned seven movies and a $4 billion box office haul. Did you know that Mission: Impossible was a television show? Dave and Ryan talk about other TV shows that became feature films.

This week, Dave and Ryan discuss the new Netflix release Nonna's, starring Vince Vaughn. It must have made them hungry, so they talk about movies about food. Since Lilo and Stitch comes out next weekend, they discuss the original animated feature released in 2002.

This week, Dave and Ryan celebrate their 100th episode by talking about the movie Braveheart, the Mel Gibson film that was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, and won five turns 30 years old in 2025. Then the guys discuss some of their favorite moments from the first 100 shows.

Dave's on vacation this week, so Jordan deals with Ryan this time. Ryan gives you his opinion on Thunderbolts*. Will he like it, or won't he? I know where my money is. Sunday is May the Fourth, and Monday is Revenge of the Fifth, so that is the perfect opportunity to talk Star Wars!

This week, Dave and Ryan went to the movies and watched "The Accountant 2." Is it as good as the first one, or does it not "add" up? There is less than a month left in the school year, so the boys dust off some great last-day-of-school flicks.  And this weekend marks the 20th Anniversary of The Revenge of the Sith. How important is it to the Star Wars franchise?
