Every Sunday in December I will be posting a 10 minute sample sound bath that begins with a "holiday" themed intention. This week we are talking about Gratitude. Gratitude is defined as the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. The practice of gratitude helps to lessen anxiety, depression and causes us to focus on the positives rather than the negatives in life. Andrew Huberman recommends that while, "A gratitude journal is nice...repeating a story about receiving gratitude shifts your brain and body’s neural circuitry more potently than any list." He further explains that when we tell a story about people receiving help our neural gratitude circuits light up and the heartbeats of the people listening to the stories synchronize. So, during this sound bath I encourage you to recall a story about gratitude received and feel that into your body, mind and heart as you drift away with the waves of the bath. While the holidays can be a be really fun and joyful, they can also be stressful, nostalgic and sometimes sad. Every Sunday in December I will be posting a 10 minute sample sound bath that begins with a "holiday" themed intention.  This week we are talking about Peace.  Peace is defined as a state of tranquility or quiet: such as freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts. Eckhart Tolle explains that the path to inner peace does not rely on outer circumstances but rather on our ability to return to the "is-ness" of the present moment and release overthinking and our reactions to the external world. Ashley Davis Bush, the author of, The Little Book of Inner Peace, furthers this notion by explaining that "we have a deep reservoir of peacefulness and serenity inside of us. What we have to learn how to do is tap into it."  During this sound bath I encourage you to tap into that inner peace by recalling something that brings you tranquility or quiet and feel that into your body, mind and heart as you drift away with the waves of the bath.  While the holidays can be a be really fun and joyful, they can also be stressful, nostalgic and sometimes sad.
