Trauma - the Invisible Partner in Relationship
Protea Foundation Founder and CEO Cristina Pearse talks with Dan about two general kinds of trauma and how they affect close relationships. If you're partnering with someone who has experienced trauma or other significant loss you may experience them as highly sensitive and prone to being "triggered" by what seem like minor exchanges. We make sense of it. Cristina puts neurological science in understandable form. She helps Dan who shares about the early childhood trauma that's been hidden for decades. In their own diacardia conversation, Cristina and Dan explore how awareness generates new options for both partners to understand the hidden partner of PTSD in relationship. Diacardia does what it does: helps individuals grow more free and healthy and builds connection between them.

Goals Intentions Feelings - Diacardia S2 E2
Goals can be off-putting. In the past, perhaps you haven't followed through. Or the goals lost their luster. Maybe it's better to let life happen, you think; live and adjust. I've taught goals in my leadership work for over 30 years, I (arrogantly?) thought I knew all that was useful to know. Abby gave me a far different and highly useful perspective. Let her explain!

Diacardia S2 E1 - When you need to talk and your partner doesn't
One partner is "dying" to talk, but the other doesn't want to. Then what? Monica Tanner, certified relationship coach shares game-changing ideas with Dan about the all-too-frequent situation where partners are opposite in that one feels the two need to talk, but the other just doesn't want to go there. How does that partner who wants to explore the challenges in relationship bring the resistant partner to the table? Dan and Monica share relationship research as well as their personal stories to help listeners find usable strategies to work on their relationships. Diacardia is the podcast that explores the power of good listening and thinking - we could call that dialogue - but also helps listeners develop the art of listening through the heart.
