According to Dj Certify, if you “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life” - Confucius, and Dj’ing has been the creative force through out his life. Certify's journey began as a teen from the South Bronx, during a time when his childhood friends were making names for themselves in the music industry. Artists such as Dj Xclusive and Dj J-Star from power 105.1 served as an inspiration to Certify. His taste in music was heavily inspired by Heavyhitter Dj Yonny, specializing in EDM, HipHop, and turntablism, and Heavyhitter/Lmp Dj Danny S whom specializes in HipHop, Dancehall, and Latin music. Growing up, he had a close friendship with Dj J-Star, who introduced him to turntables, which amplified his curiosity in the craft. Certify came from humble beginnings, his parents couldn’t afford to buy him luxury equipment (Technic 1200s) so they settled with what they could afford at the time, the Numark Dj in a box package.
