Guest: Henry Amoloja, The Weighted Cape!

Candice and Sarah sit down with Henry Amoloja!  A Barber for Dallas, TX who is making waves on social media. he's giving back to kids through his barber skills. You have to listen to his episode and Henry's story of how he discovered The Weighted Cape. It will truly put a smile on your face! Henry is a 10 year veteran barber in Downtown Dallas. He loves doing detailed fades and crispy edge ups. A husband and a father of two, who also really enjoys playing chess, reading, working out, listening to Afro beats, making cocktails from scratch, playing drums, and being adventurous. The founder of The Weighted Cape! A hair cutting cape designed with insertable weights to transform haircuts into calming, empowering experiences for individuals who need sensory support. The idea for The Weighted Cape came from a quiet moment at home. After buying a weighted blanket for his wife, Henry tried it  and immediately felt the calming effects. That’s when the lightbulb went off: What if he could bring that same comfort into his barbershop? So he transformed a traditional cutting cape into a weighted version, initially just to add comfort for his clients. But what started as a small upgrade quickly revealed something bigger. He realized the weighted cape could do more than make people comfortable- it could regulate, soothe, and support those with sensory needs who struggle with haircuts. For many of these kids, a haircut isn’t just a routine task—it’s a sensory minefield. The noise, the tools, the cape itself—every part of the experience can be overwhelming. But with the right tools and approach, that can change.Henry is  a Sensory Safe Certified barber, specializing in working with children on the spectrum. He's created a space where kids feel safe to just be themselves, and where parents no longer have to dread haircut day. He services about 60 kids a month. Follow Henry on IG @HenryTribes @theweightedcape Shoutout to @KateilovehairTo support Henry here's the @gofundme page - https://www.gofundme.com/f/pay-it-forward-fund-a-sensory-haircut-today?attribution_id=sl:e2d05061-3b6b-43a8-8802-845404dca580&lang=en_US&ts=1754446425&utm_campaign=man_sharesheet_dash&utm_content=amp13_c&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=copy_linkSend us Fan MailFollow Us on InstagramLike Us on FacebookWatch Us on Youtube

Are you a Vacation planner or a follower?! Which Disney character are you? Too hot to have PMS, right?! Plus, Candice goes to Disney for the first time with her family and Sarah calls a Family Member to give her all great tips for Disney World! That's right - we call Sarah sister - in - law Janice to share with us everything you need to know about Disney Parks, Lighting Lanes, Fireworks and those fancy bracelets! Incase you missed it - Here's Janice's Disney world top 10 Tips for Survival!PS - They pump happiness into this place, I don’t know how but they do it!- Staying on property, that’s AMAZING, prioritize IMO going back and enjoying thepool. Everyone does so much better with a break and being on property you getto take advantage of the transportation, monorail, buses you name it.- DO NOT MISS THE FIREWORKS. Plan for one night to really immerse yourselfin the show. We never sat for hours to get a good seat, but we have watched theshow from several angles, next to the castle to the right, in the center of all of thehumanity almost directly center, and once at the top of main street. I can’thonestly tell you which position was better, just don’t miss it. Its amazing, you’llbe singing and probably crying holding your kiddos. Grab some popcorn and amickey chocolate ice cream and take it all in.- Think about your meals, but don’t stress on it. There is food everywherethroughout the park and I wouldn’t stress about reservations, etc… depending onwho you are with, you can eat on the go or if you really want that sit downexperience plan it but I would try not to stress. In our family, everyone just wantsto go on rides and see things, they are not concerned with a sit down dinner.- Buy the lightning lane multi-pass. It’s a bit confusing and we can have anotherpodcast on how to use it, but its worth the extra money. You can ride on the ridespretty much all day with it and you feel like you are an all-star breezing throughthe lighting lane lines.- If your kids love to jump in puddles pack extra socks… they do sell them in thepark but it can be a B to find them.- Depending on ages, get a stroller, its so nice to be able to not carry as much andshove things into the stroller- Going through security, pack less bags and just have things to take out of thestroller, they have to go through all of the bags so you’ll save time this way.Nothing metal, they’ll get you a pat down!- If you are driving in, the ferry seems to be faster than the monorail- I don’t think the hopper pass is needed, its pricey and we struggle to geteveryone in, in one park let alone hopping around.- If you have younger kids, Epcot after 5pm on the country side, is NOT where youwant to be. There are many grown adults enjoying themselves and we havetended to just get annoyed with them and their language around our youngerkids.- If you haven’t seen Mickey on main street do stop! He’s the best one!Send us Fan MailFollow Us on InstagramLike Us on FacebookWatch Us on Youtube
