After months of uncertainty, Kemiyah receives the call that changes everything—a perfect heart is waiting. A second transfer to CHOP brings her closer to hope, but also a new reality—a VAD device that keeps her heart going as she faces the fight of her life.

With her voice stolen and her body failing, she fights to communicate with her mother—and begins the harrowing journey of survival and resilience that would change her life forever.
