Mandarin Oriental charm meets biodiversity in Santiago
Cities have a habit of distancing people from the natural environment. This makes them less pleasant to live in as well as less sustainable. But not everywhere: in Chile, Enel X has partnered with Mandarin. Oriental Hotel Group to create a mini rooftop oasis at the luxury hospitality chain’s Santiago property. Every year we use up natural resources a little bit faster than ou planet can regenerate them – the result of a failed buy-use-throw away “linear economy” model. Nicola Tagliafierro, Head of Sustainability at Enel X, explains why we need to transition to a “circular model”, sending fewer products to landfill while recycling and reusing as many resources as possible.
