Ep. 27 - Don’t Worry, Bee Happy
With the world feeling so chaotic, is now a good time to feel optimistic? You bet! Trump has survived his third assassination attempt stronger than ever, the Supreme Court knocked down racist gerrymandering, opening up the possibility of a red wave this November and moving us away from racial grievance politics. Shadowy leftist money launderers like the SPLC are finally being called out for funding the very hate they pretend to fight. And colleges might finally be coming around to some level of sanity—of face well-deserved extinction. Auguste, Evan, and Adam try to make sense of all of it while telling stories about mystical bees, mentally impaired whales, and oblivious leftist professors. The future is bright, but only if we can hold on to our humanity.Articles referenced in this episode:- “The Yale Report Won’t Save American Higher Education” by Paul du Quenoy- “☕️ INDEPENDENCE DAY ☙ Friday, May 1, 2026 ☙ C&C NEWS 🦠“ by Jeff Childers- “Imagine If People Cared About Their Own Countries As Much As They Do Timmy The Self-Beaching Whale” by Auguste Meyrat- “Canada Poised To Criminalize Christianity With Ban On Citing Biblical Truths” by Auguste MeyratMusic Credit:Artist: Andre MeyratSong: “Vaporwave Statues”Copyright © 2025 Andre Meyrat. Ep. 26 - Why Can’t We Make Pretty Buildings Anymore?
What’s with all the ugly modern buildings that suck the soul out a city? Why does the Obama library look like some weird angular version of the Death Star? What do architects do all day? Does The Brutalist with Adrian Brody accurately depict the life of an architect, or should we instead watch the classic comedy Click with Adam Sandler? Auguste brings on his architect brother Julien Meyrat who explains the current state of architecture. For the most part, the world has moved on from the boring bleak blocks of the mid-20th century, and architecture is a different thing than it used to be. The problem isn’t so much gray uniformity, but competing visions and styles that have all become possible with new technology and well-trained architects heeding their clients’ requests. Julien is hopeful for the future of his profession while Auguste looks for someone to blame for all the “misunderstood” buildings still existing in the world. Ep. 25 - Rhinelanders, Rootedness, Religion, and Romance (w/ Alan Schmidt)
What is the fate of above-average individuals in declining small towns? How important is it to know one’s family history? How can we revive the parishes closing down all around us? How should men approach women in this cruel world? Auguste has a conversation with essayist and novelist Alan Schmidt to discuss these mysteries as well as Alan’s new book The Rhinelanders which covers these themes. Part of the solution seems to involve becoming a mix of Hank Hill, Mr. Darcey, and Daniel Day Lewis. Were any of our queries resolved? Not really, but we’re wiser now than we were before. If you want actual answers, go read Alan’s book. Ep. 24 - Iran (So Far Away)
So what should the everyman think about Iran? Auguste is primed and ready to trust the plan, but it’s difficult to say what that plan actually is. Meanwhile Adam has Iran fatigue, and Evan tries to take a cosmic yet somber view of the whole thing. Misgivings aside, both Auguste and Evan are generally supportive, but Adam is somewhat doubtful and wonders when the freedom loving Persians are going to arrive. The three also discuss Cuba, which somehow seems less controversial since a regime change over there does not involve oil or Israel. The conversation then moves to the (un)talented Mr. Talarico who will supposedly flip Texas blue. As Adam points out the Democrats’ hypocrisy on its treatment of Christianity, and Evan remarks the oddly ambiguous personal life of Talarico (is he gay?), Auguste notes how the Dems across the nation are launching a moderate normie offensive to win back the government. This conversation then leads to the passage of the SAVE Act, which all three doubt will pass due to the usual corruption and complacency of the Senate. Finally, the three discusses the Oscars, with Evan lamenting its demise and Adam hoping for a speedy end to the whole Hollywood era so that new voices can emerge. Auguste aims to continue his practice of ignoring the movies nominated and watch reruns of Babylon 5 instead. Ep. 23 - Spermageddon and the Testosterone Crisis (w/ Raw Egg Nationalist)
Auguste speaks with the one and only Dr. Charles Cornish-Dale (a.k.a. the Raw Egg Nationalist) about his new book The Last Men: Liberalism and the Death of Masculinity which discusses the collapse of sperm count and testosterone level afflicting the modern world. The struggle this creates for men (and women) is indeed real, and it will take nothing less than muscular, high-T, high IQ thinkers like Auguste and Charles to ask the important questions about it. While Charles calls for more studies in this crisis and ponders the political implications of a low-T population, Auguste worries if changing diapers and watching Gilmore Girls will hurt his sperm count. The two cover a wide range of topics from the sexualized politics of South Korea, the current state of MAHA and the Manosphere, as well as an obscure African tribe that demonstrates what a true longhouse society looks like.Articles, books, and Substacks referenced in this episode:- The Last Men: Liberalism and the Death of Masculinity by Dr. Charles Cornish-Dale (the Raw Egg Nationalist)- “The Last Men Reveals How Testosterone Determines the Fate of Civilization” by Auguste Meyrat- “What Is the Longhouse?” by Jonathon Keeperman (a.k.a. Ep. 22 - Will You Be Our Valentine, Team USA?
Happy Valentines Day! Auguste is joined by Evan and Dr. Adam Ellwanger (a.k.a. “The Love Doctor”) to diagnose the romance crisis in today’s world. Adam blames the internet which has made everything more awkward, Evan floats ideas of speed-dating for homeschoolers, and Auguste offers some lessons in talking to the opposite sex and recommends reading Pride and Prejudice. The three consider the old debate of whether the rise of lonely singles is the result of men being losers, women expecting too much, or both sexes simply not trying hard enough. They also consider if the rise of a diverse demography adds yet another hurdle for people finding their soulmate who shares their values, goals, and genetic preferences. Finally, the three discuss the Winter Olympics and certain opinionated athletes competing for Team USA. While Adam, a yankee from New York, waxes nostalgic about the games and gives everyone a pass, Auguste and Evan conclude that this all just a bunch of spoiled rich brats ready to party at the Olympic level, do their virtue signaling, and maybe win a medal.Articles and Books Referenced:“Recovering Love and Marriage in a Loveless and Divided Culture?” By Auguste Meyrat“Tips for Navigating the Modern Dating Culture From an Unlikely Source” by Auguste MeyratPride and Prejudice by Jane AustenJude the Obscure by Thomas HardyMusic Credit:Artist: Andre MeyratSong: “Vaporwave Statues”Copyright © 2025 Andre Meyrat. Ep. 21 - No Really, What Is a Woman? (w/ Dr. Carrie Gress)
In this episode, Auguste has a conversation with Dr. Carrie Gress about her new book Something Wicked: Why Feminism Can’t Be Fused with Christianity and the challenge of rooting out secular feminism in the Catholic Church. Dr. Gress brings up the anti-Christian strains of first-wave feminism and how this has been carried on into the current feminist movement. She dispels the many myths surrounding the foundresses of feminism and explains why their beliefs don’t work under a truly Catholic Christian framework. For his part, Auguste at least tries to make a case for some of the early feminists, but soon folds and joins Gress’s camp. The two then consider an alternative vision of Christian womanhood and try to come up with a way forward for young women in today’s confusing culture. Did they eventually figure out what a woman was after all? Well, you’ll have to listen to this episode to find out. Ep. 20 - Cold as ICE: Live from the Winter Storm & Ongoing Minnesotamania
The anti-ICE agitations continue with yet another shooting. Auguste has brought on Evan and Tony to discuss these new developments and better understand the situation. After the three Everymen share harrowing stories of being stuck in the snow, Tony, a resident in the Twin Cities and part Yeti, explains how things look like on the ground. Far from being a French Revolution erupting in the midwest, it is a relatively small conflagration between professional activists and border enforcers—something no one would even notice if the internet didn’t tell us about it. The three then discuss the current state of the pro-life movement, which seems rudderless after hiding behind Roe for half a century. Finally, Auguste recalls a great Simpsons episode (back when it was funny) that should give us all reason to be hopeful.Articles referenced in this episode:- “There Is No ‘Nice’ Way to Do Mass Deportations” by Scott Greer- “Why Minnesota?” by William Hunter Duncan- “Ep. 19: Fire and ICE: Fire and ICE: Militant Feminism, Beleaguered Law Enforcement, and the Rhetoric of Radicalism” by Auguste Meyrat, Evan McClanahan, and Adam Ellwanger- “Supreme Court Justices Purposely Ignore The Main Issue In Abortion Pill Arguments” by Auguste Meyrat- “Six Harsh Truths That Will Make You a Better Friend” by Jason Pargin- “Trump One Year Later- the Good, the Bad and the Memorable” by Evan McClanahanMusic Credit:Artist: Andre MeyratSong: “Vaporwave Statues”Copyright © 2025 Andre Meyrat. Ep. 19 - Fire and ICE: Militant Feminism, Beleaguered Law Enforcement, and the Rhetoric of Radicalism
What caused Renee Good to do what she did? What will be the lasting impact of her death? What should the Trump administration do going forward? Are the normies being radicalized, or are the radicals being normalized? Auguste talks with Evan McClanahan and rhetoric professor Dr. Adam Ellwanger to analyze the current situation with the anti-ICE protests and what to learn from Renee Good’s demise. While Adam notes the ratcheting effect behind the left’s ongoing transgression of social and cultural boundaries, Auguste wonders if the popular image of the young idealistic male rebel fresh out of college should be revised to look like a bored middle-aged woman who consumes too much leftist slop on TikTok. Evan points out that Good’s lesbianism might have paved the way to her anti-ICE extremism and keeps up his streak of invoking his favorite dictator Nayib Bukele with regards to what American leaders should do about leftist violence. Finally, the trio considers the prominent themes that the anti-ICE movement seems to share with militant feminism and the possibility of an underlying romantic fetish driving some of this activity. Ep. 18 - Battle of the Memes (Part II)
Auguste and Evan determine which memes do the best at defining today’s cultural moment and which ones should reign supreme in the meme hierarchy. In this episode, the heavy contenders like “Redpill,” “Based,” and “Wojack” enter the fray against winners of the first round. As the competition becomes fiercer, Auguste becomes ever more longwinded and Evan more undecided. The winner of this tournament ended up being a surprise for the two cousins most of all. Altogether, there is much learning to be had and leveling-up to be done. You too can now become a professional meme-ologist. Ep. 17 - Battle of the Memes (Part I)
Auguste and Evan come together to discuss the role of memes in today’s culture and which of them will stand the test of time. Using the recent meme-opedia of Dudley Newright, they match up the best memes in a bracketed tournament where each meme faces off with one another in three successive rounds. Applying the most rigorous scientific standards and bringing the full force of their knowledge of current affairs and internet culture to bear, Auguste and Evan will unlock the meaning and ultimate value of each meme. Hopefully, this discussion of online lexicography will help audiences learn what some of these terms and images are supposed to signify so that they too can appear cool, knowledgable, and oh-so-based. Ep. 16 - Everything Wrong (and Right) About Films in 2025
Auguste brings back Senior Editor and film critic Tony Juarez to discuss a few recent movies and a few not-so-recent ones. They begin with an extended conversation of The Running Man with Glen Powell, a reboot of the sci-fi action flick in the 80s with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Even the proud Gen Xer Tony had some reservations about this movie, though he acknowledges the admirable attempt to stay true to the source material. For his part, Auguste has finally given up on Glen Powell and thinks he just can’t hack it as a leading man. They also talk about Good Boy, a horror film told from a dog’s perspective, and Sketch, a indie film that is well-done, family-friendly, and actually watchable. Finally, Auguste rants about the horrific AI-slop that is A Minecraft Movie yet gives praise to the progressively smug but surprisingly good American Fiction. Altogether this has been a weird, mostly bad year for movies, but neither man is ready to declare that the art form altogether dead. The last of the woke just needs to be cycled out.Articles referenced in this episode:- “A Dystopian Tale Comes of Age: A Review of ‘The Running Man’” by Tony Juarez- “A Dog’s Tale of Terror: A (Spoiler Free) Review of ‘Good Boy’” by Tony Juarez- “Healing the Monsters of the Id: A Review of the Film ‘Sketch’” by Tony Juarez- “How ‘Frankenstein’ was turned into a woke parable — and missed the real horror” by Auguste Meyrat- “The Cynical In-Joke of ‘American Fiction’” by Alex PerezMusic by: bensound.comLicense code: Y0YYNS47PIIKYTSGArtist: : The Fable

Ep. 15 - The GOP Needs More MAGA and Fewer Groypers
The cousins are back together again to discuss what this past week’s off-year elections portend for the future—if anything. Even though Republicans try their best to show how crazy their opponents are, Democrat voters have overwhelmingly proved that they don’t care. Auguste wishes that the candidates had plan beyond pointing at their opponents and voicing outrage while Evan believes that they should have added more MAGA and cowbell to their messaging. Both agree that New York City is doomed. They also think that these elections don’t really say much about what’s to come except that Trump and the rest of the GOP should focus more on domestic policy. Afterward, they talk about the much ballyhooed interview between Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes, concluding that Groyperism is about as dumb as it sounds. Auguste wonders if it’s possible be too offline and if that’s Tucker’s problem; Evan thinks that Tucker’s a one-trick troller whose time is running out. Finally, the two reflect on the prospect on a civil war and Auguste asks everyone to think of the children.Articles referenced in this episode:- “The Thoroughly Unimpressive Mr. Fuentes” by Auguste Meyrat- “What, or Who, Is a Jew?” by Evan McClanahan - “Putting the Idea of a National Divorce to Bed” by Evan McClanahan- “The Incredulous Tucker Carlson Act Is Tiresome” by Evan McClanahan

Ep. 14 - From the East to the West: Ukraine, Israel, and San Francisco (with Katya Sedgwick)
Is nature healing? Is Trump bringing world peace? Will San Francisco become an iconic city again? Auguste is joined by special guest and OG Everyman contributor Katya Sedgwick to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine, the precarious peace deal in Gaza, and the prospect of Trump sending the troops into San Francisco. To all these questions, Katya is more circumspect, appreciating the various nuances of these challenges while Auguste is already popping the champagne on a Pax Trumpana and a new American Golden Age. He stopped short of singing “Imagine” by John Lennon, but he might have been thinking about it.Articles referenced in this episode:“Derussifying Russian Art” by Katya Sedgwick“A Case for the National Guard in San Francisco” by Katya Sedgwick “The Top Eight Hoaxes of the Gaza War” by Katya SedgwickMusic by: bensound.comLicense code: Y0YYNS47PIIKYTSGArtist: : The Fable

Ep. 13 - Triumph of the Poasters
The cousins are back again to discuss a new banger of an essay by writer John Carter which discusses how online social media voices are increasingly informing policy and culture. We both consider to what extent this really is the case, where we can see it, and if this is ultimately a good thing for the country. Unsurprisingly, both Auguste and Evan see more upside than downside to this development since it means that they and their audiences might actually move the needle on important issues. Moreover, it seems like it’s mostly the good ideas rising to the top while the not-so-good ideas tend to stay in their dark corners of the internet.Articles referenced in this episode:- “Poastocracy” by John Carter- “The Four Commandments of Reddit” by Dudley Newright

Ep. 12.1 - Democrats Just Need to Message Harder
What happened to the superior messaging of the Democrats? Why are their candidates so terrible and obsessed with inflicting violence? And is toppling public monuments still cool? Auguste has a conversation with special guest Dr. Adam Ellwanger, a professor of rhetoric at the University of Houston Downtown and a frequent contributor to a number of conservative publications including The Blaze, Chronicles, and The American Mind. While Auguste does his part repeating the familiar talking points (“the Democrats are crazy and stupid!” etc.), Adam finds method in the madness, explaining leftist hubris, salon vs. saloon rhetoric, and the end goal behind leftist iconoclasm and substitute iconography. Along the way, the two talk about the career-ending scandals of dog-abuse and who would be fun to have a beer with. The discussion ends on a happy note of the resilience American pride and the prospect of kickass monuments being built.Articles referenced in the episode:- “Democrats Won’t Get the Message” by Adam Ellwanger- “Charlie Kirk and the Rhetoric of the Saloon” by Adam Ellwanger- “Trump’s Monumentalist Aesthetic” by Adam Ellwanger and John WatersMusic by: bensound.comLicense code: Y0YYNS47PIIKYTSGArtist: : The Fable

Ep. 11 - Enough Talk. Do Something Already!
Another week, another instance of leftist violence and Republican impotence. Auguste and Evan discuss the most recent attack on ICE agents, with both feeling frustrated with the relative inaction of the Trump administration. Both agree that Sen. Ted Cruz needs be primaried (and start dieting). Recalling their discussion of Dudley Newright’s article about Reddit, the cousins discuss the leftist brainwashing that’s occurring with so many leftist incels now. While Evan is mostly hopeful that these instances of violence are a sign of leftist desperation in the face of cultural and political decline, Auguste is fairly black-pilled (or perhaps dark gray?), calling out the blowhards in the administration who talk big and proceed to do precisely nothing. Even the news of Comey’s indictment isn’t enough to raise anyone’s spirits. More needs to happen, and we need to keep up the pressure.Essays reference in this episode:- “Democrats Won’t Get the Message” by Adam Ellwanger- “The Four Commandments of Reddit” by Dudley Newright- “The Brew: If Dems Shut Down Government Over Free Health Care for Illegal Immigrants, Trump Team May Mass Fire Spoiled Federal Employees” by John ZmirakMusic by: bensound.comLicense code: Y0YYNS47PIIKYTSGArtist: : The Fable

Ep. 10 - The Aftermath
After sitting out a week to grieve the truly awful murder of Charlie Kirk, the cousins come together once more to discuss what’s going to follow. Both pay homage to the incalculable impact of Kirk on the conservative movement, consider what comes next, and debate whether his wife Erika has what it takes to continue his legacy. They also discuss Kirk’s demented murderer and the toxic leftism that drove him. Once again, Evan cites the example of El Salvadoran dictator Nayib Bukele as a model for what Trump should start doing to reestablish order. Meanwhile Auguste openly wonders if Americans are finally ready to take the necessary steps to end the cycle of violence and dysfunction in their communities. Ep. 9 - MAHA on Trial, the UK Has Fallen, and Trump Makes America Safe Again
In the wake of RFK Jr.’s recent hearing in the U.S. Senate, Evan and Auguste discuss the current health of MAHA, the Left’s fixation with Trump’s health, anarcho-tyranny in the UK, and the coming golden age of public safety in American cities. Evan flexes his extensive reading on public health and the history of vaccination while Auguste maintains respectability by offering his normie smooth-brained rebuttals. Fortunately, for the members of the MAHA movement, change seems to be coming and RFK Jr, is a relatively independent non-shill. On the safety front, Trump seems far more confident this second time around punishing bad guys, finally cleaning up the mean streets in DC and bombing Venezuelan narco-boats in the Caribbean. As for the rest of the West, particularly the UK, both cousins conclude it’s probably a lost cause, but give props to JD Vance for calling out these countries’ awful leadership before it was cool.Articles referenced in this episode:- “Censorship or the National Guard: Which Public Safety Vision Do You Prefer?” By Evan McClanahan- “If Only the Unknown Soldier Had Been Vaccinated” by Evan McClanahan- “Leverage: How (Relatively) Small Amounts of Money do Outsized Amounts of Harm” by Evan McClanahan- “Why Nobody Should Accept So-Called Experts’ Halfhearted Reversal On ADHD” by Auguste Meyrat- “Speech And Self-Defense Keep U.S. From Devolving Into Canada And The U.K.” by Auguste MeyratMusic: bensound.comArtist: The FableLicense code: S448KHOFUCUPTTQU

Ep. 8 - Ending Urban Crime, Fixing American Elections, and Establishing Peace on Earth
The cousins are back again to discuss the news of the day and counting Trump’s wins. First, they talk about the current cleanup of DC, the problems of urban crime, and the innumerable obstacles to overcome to achieve basic objectives. Evan expresses his growing affinity for the Singaporean authoritarianism and bashes Houston while Auguste asks critics to take of their rose-tinted glasses and see what American cities (and suburbs!) have become. Also, both of them really hate marijuana.Later, the two review Trump’s executive order on ditching mail-in ballots, using paper ballots, and ending the usage of digital voting machines. If this goes through, this could change the political landscape in huge ways and result in a permanent Republican majority for the foreseeable future. However, it’s almost guaranteed that Democrats and their cronies will fight this with everything they have. Finally, Evan and Auguste flex their foreign policy muscles and consider the prospect of a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Breaking from establishment opinion, Evan voices his deep empathy for Putin’s war, bringing up the important question of the West even means at this point. Auguste lets his peace flag fly, simply hoping for an end to the war. Articles referenced in this episode:“The Brew: Order Is Returning to America’s Capital. Ep. 7 - School’s Back in Session!
In this episode, I am joined by my friend and fellow teacher-writer Jeremy Adams. Jeremy is the author of several books, including Hollowed Out, which discusses the issues afflicting the Zoomers (before it was cool), and Lessons in Liberty, which profiles 30 great Americans who can serve as models for today’s Americans. As we start the new year, Jeremy and I offer our diagnoses for the current state of American public schools. Somehow, we don’t talk about smartphones until the second half of the conversation—and even then, we’re mostly positive about the new policies. Rather, the real problem afflicting schools is more philosophical in nature. Later on, Jeremy defends Gen X parents, softening my criticism that they should have known better about the screens. And both of us show our age as we express our confusion at much of the political discourse that dominates social media today. Finally, Jeremy ends our conversations on a happy note by offering high-quality warm fuzzies for any prospective educators.Articles Referenced in this Episode:“A Teacher Explains the Massive Challenges Young Americans Don’t Want to Face, But Must” by Auguste Meyrat“‘Lessons In Liberty’ Helps Us Work Like James Madison, Think Like Clara Barton, And Multitask Like RBG” by Auguste Meyrat“My Late Father Was a Great Teacher. Ep. #6: Is "The Naked Gun" the Beginning of a Comedy Renaissance?
Tony gives us his overview of the new Naked Gun movie while Auguste goes on extended rant about old actors who need to throw in the towel to give a chance to younger talent. We also discuss the state of comedy today, the power of Gen X nostalgia, and the need for conservative actors and filmmakers to come out of the (political) closet. As with all things, there’re reasons to be hopeful about the future of television and movies as well as reasons to think the current decline will persist. Whatever happens, the Everymen will be there for it.

The Everyman Commentary Podcast #5: How Reddit Made Our Culture Lame
Auguste and Evan discuss a viral essay from Dudley Newright that explains how Reddit has made everything in our society lame. From starting as an online forum for dorky introverts to find one another, the platform and its moderators have come to dominate the thinking and sentiments of society, particularly with millennials. While Dudley argues that Reddit was the origin of so much of what’s wrong with the world, The Everyman cohosts wonder if it’s more a reflection of what was already being taught in schools and reinforced by mainstream media. As the conversation progresses, the two consider the extent of Redditism and if the phenomenon can be seen in other parts of the internet. Finally, Auguste and Evan consider how this all ends. Will we all become pathetic Redditor-types eating the bugs or will we come out of this spell and finally reconnect with reality?Articles cited in this episode:“The Four Commandments of Reddit” by Dudley Newright“How Reddit Destroyed

The Everyman Commentary #4: Is the New Superman Any Good?
Tony offers his thoughts on the new Superman film. For what it’s worth, he recommends it if one goes into it with the right expectations (that is, low ones). We discuss the strange wokemongering preceding the film and the challenges of making a compelling Superman film in general. This prompts Auguste to nerd out and discuss his disappointment with the latests installments in the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes as well as his subsequent hope for a turnaround in the superhero genre. Finally, Tony brings up previews to new movies come out, which seem to promise ever more Gen X and Millennial nostalgia slop. But perhaps something great will spring from the coming movie offerings. The Everyman Commentary Podcast #2: Battle of the Conservative Podcasters
In this episode, we review the biggest conservative voices and determine how they fare against one another in a tournament bracket. Each of these contenders are already titans of the podcast world and quickly turning what was formerly considered the “alternative media” into the mainstream.
