They discuss the digital interventions they’ve researched and designed, the challenges they faced along the way, and a few future trends.

Dr. Appelbaum discusses the fundamental elements of feedback and how to utilize those elements in the clinical setting. We further discuss the characteristics of effective feedback; comparing and contrasting descriptive and evaluative language as well as perceptual checking. The podcast also delves into the human factors related to feedback’ setting the proper stage to provide feedback; the difference between formative and summative feedback; and the common challenges when providing feedback to a learner.

Dr. Kutzin describes the various simulation modalities that can be used to assess the learner. The use of these modalities enhances the overall learning experience and provides valuable feedback to the learner. These modalities and tools can be learned by any faculty and deliberately implemented into the curriculum.
