Feathered Hope
by Athena
As I’ve begun this journey, I was struck by the lack of information about going no contact (nc) in college, as a teenager/early young adult. It can be terrifying being in college, having no idea about the world, and losing a parent. I have quandaries and worries that range from how to do taxes to whether AAA is worth it. I also want people in their early 20s to know they aren’t alone in their desire for limited to no contact with a parent. I wanted to create something that might fill that void a bit.

Estrangement: What does it mean?
On this episode, I define estrangement as well as discuss possible experiences with no contact. Here is the link to the article I referenced: https://doi.org/10.1080/02650533.2017.1326471 As well as the list of resources I discussed: r/EstrangedAdultKids “Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: How to Heal from Distant, Rejecting, or Self-Involved Parents.” by Lindsay C Gibson
