Ep.12: Adoption in Thailand
This week’s special guest is the fabulous Gemma Mickle! A fellow expat and teacher, Gemma joins me to share her remarkable journey to parenthood, talking us through the highs, lows, challenges and lengthy process of adoption here in Thailand. Gemma and I met back in 2019 through our hairdresser when we had a brief introduction and Gemma had started the adoption application process. Now, 7 years later, she is mummy to a gorgeous daughter! As someone who recently froze my eggs and is considering different routes to parenthood myself, this is a conversation I’ve been really excited for! Whether you’ve adopted a child, are adopted yourself, are considering adoption in the future or are generally just interested to hear from someone who has done it solo, then this episode is for you! Ep.11 Songkran: Thai New Year
In the UK, April is all about Easter, a significant Christian festival, celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and the promise of eternal life. Common traditions involve welcoming spring and new life, spending quality time with family, the Easter bunny and stuffing your faces with overpriced chocolate eggs. In Thailand, April is a time for celebrating the Thai new year, known as Songkran. With temperatures soaring 40°, constant sunshine and public holidays, there’s really no better time for the entire country to have a national water fight that lasts 3 days! Loud music, bright floral shirts, water pistols and face chalk = carnage, chaos and craziness! I’ve not been in Bangkok for Songkran since 2019 so this year will be a bit different. Listen along as I talk about my favourite time of year and life’s recent shenanigans! In this episode I’m joined by my friend and colleague, Elise, to spill the sweat on our recent Hyrox experiences. Having both done Hyrox before and trained well beforehand, we weren’t going in completely blind, but were we fully prepared to up our game with the new challenges we’d set ourselves? Listen along as we compare notes, swap war stories, and relive the highs, lows, and “why did we sign up for this?” moments.Expect laughs, a little drama, and some honest opinions of other Hyroxers - if you know, you know! Ep.9 Mother's Day
Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the women who shape our lives in countless ways but it can also bring a mix of emotions for many people. Join my good friend Lauren and I as we talk about all things Mother’s Day: from the funny and familiar habits mums have, to the deeper realities of modern motherhood. We share some of the classic things mums say and do, reflect on the pressures and expectations placed on mothers and explore why this day can feel joyful for some and complicated for others.Whether you’re celebrating your mum, navigating motherhood yourself, or simply reflecting on the role mothers and caregivers play in our lives, this episode is a light-hearted but thoughtful conversation about appreciation, love, and the many shapes motherhood can take.Don’t forget to like, follow, comment & share on Instagram, Threads, Spotify & Apple Podcasts @female.farang.unfiltered

Ep.8 Holiday Blues & Life Updates
'You’re always on holiday' is one thing my friends and family in the UK say to me frequently! And yes, I am very fortunate that I am able to travel multiple times a year. Yes, living in a hot, sunny place does make life feel a little easier, BUT, expat life still involves a full-time job, lots of adulting and life admin. The holiday blues may look different, but they are definitely there! More rouge and far less deep than the last few episodes, this week I’m talking about my recent road trip with the girls, the back to work struggle and a few random life updates. So if your brain’s in overload and you’re finding it hard to unwind, this week is an easy listen - think of it as my own reality show without the visuals (which is probably just as well!)*Disclaimer: Grumpy Lou appears in this episode with some light swearing*Don’t forget to like, follow, comment & share on Instagram, Threads, Spotify & Apple Podcasts @female.farang.unfiltered
