One of PlayStation’s most famous and beloved exclusive franchises is Naughty Dog’s Uncharted. From searching for the lost city of gold – El Dorado, to the sunken treasure of pirate Henry Avery, the Uncharted series follows the exploits of fortune hunter Nathan Drake, his trusty mentor and partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan, and off-and-on-again love interest Elena Fisher. In this installment of In Sequence, we look at two of the most critically and publically acclaimed titles in the franchise: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and see how the two games really match up.

One of recent gaming history’s most rehashed titles, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, has had a multitude of releases, 9 core releases to be exact, plus dozens of spin off chapters. There was even a live-action movie adaptation, that did poorly (obviously). As of late, many consider the Assassin’s Creed series to be a tired franchise. Nevertheless, all the releases we’ve seen so far have had their pros and cons, and today we will be looking at the legacy that is Assassin’s Creed.

The video game industry is full of sequels, remakes, and spiritual successors. Some of these take what was presented in the originals and use that as a foundation to improve upon said original formula. Others take what was an amazing original title and completely destroy its legacy, leaving it as a laughingstock of the internet. Patrick Dixon, Spinnaker “Spinn” Greenberg, and Drew Dunivan, three avid gamers, make it their job to sift through all the gaming franchises and tell you beautiful gamers out there which sequels, remakes, and spiritual successors live up to the prestige of the originals, and which will forever remain in gaming infamy. We delve into everything from graphics, to sound and music, to gameplay, to story. Spanning all consoles, no series will be left untouched, except most of them. The first episode covers the classic Super Mario 64 and it's successor, Super Mario Sunshine.
