Religion as a vector for imperialism

This episode was inspired by the diplomatic wahala that happened recently between the governments of Nigeria and the US. the government of Nigeria is once again labelled as a 'country of particular concern' by the US. This is because of the number of Christians being killed in Nigeria as a result of insurgency, and insecurity. In this episode, i breakdown the motives of the US for using this label, and i also bring in historic context to argue that 'protecting religious freedoms' is a tactic of imperial divide and rule as well as justification to invade countries around the world.

    Miscreants in Government

This episode as the title suggests, is focused in miscreant behavior in the Nigerian government. Crony capitalism and nepotism at the expense of collective development. The land worth ($3.6bn) gifted to the son of a government official is roughly equal to how much is needed to close the Nigerian housing deficit of ~20million housing units. Listen for the details.

    State Forces and Class Consciousness

this episode is a reading analyzing the relations between state forces and class consciousness. even though most rank and file in state forces a picked from the most vulnerable strata of societies, within these forces there is no awareness of one's place in wider societies. this is why soldiers and police may attack those whom they actually share economic interests. the main aim of state forces is to maintain capitalistic relations of domination and exploitation. ultra processed foods (UPF) have inflitrated our diets in many ways than we recognise. this is the work of big food corporations, they strip foods of natural nutrients and replace them with artificial flavors and preservatives. this episode holds information that should help us correct our course and start righting the damage caused in our tummies and those of our friends and loved ones. enjoy. here's the article link; https://marxengelsinstitute.org/2024/01/18/the-state-forces-and-class-consciousness/

Kwame Ture - Revolution or Reform

n/b; cde J1DZ of Movement for African Emancipation (MAE) is the voice you heard in the beginning. If you're curious about that convo (i hope you are), check episode 7. This is a recording of Kwame Ture in 1973 where he spoke at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The lecture was about the difference between revolution and reform. In our time however, we can easily observe that the changes we deserve as working people will not be achieved by making small adjustments here and there, in a system designed against our progress, growth or dignity. capitalistic systems of governance have to be done away with. Anyways give it a listen and share comments on instagram, then rate it on spotify, thanks.

    On Opportunism; a reading

This is a reading of an article posted on the powerful media platform Hood Communist. Titled 'on opportunism' and written by Rafiki Morris, the piece details the various ways opportunism can negatively impact revolutionary organizing or even political education. The piece also explains how predatory opportunism is a manifestation of capitalist ideology and why serious Africans must defend their selves and organizations from such influences. Pan-Africanism and Digital Technology

As you will find, this episode is a reading of an article published on HoodCommunist.org. it simply argues that while communication tech has its advantages, it tends to have a net-negative effect in the lives of colonized people. Although there is potential to use digital technology to organize for the good of Africans, we should remember the counter-revolutionary potential it has, especially in the hands of abusive capitalists and imperialists. We must learn how to use these platforms in subversive ways that reduce whatever disadvantages we may be exposed to, while maintaining our stance as threats to systems of exploitation and domination. The Nigerian Student Loan w/ Cde. Ray

On this freewheeling episode, i was invited by Comrade Ray from the Movement of the People (MOP). We talked in the effects on the students and wider society, the conversation also spiraled out to the current economic conditions and how a loan program is not necessarily the solution for Nigerians.
