Oklahoma Democratic Party speaks on recent election results

Many of analysts, pundits, and strategists have been givingtheir thoughts on the state of the political landscape after Trump handily won a second term in the White House.  While the diagnosis differs depending on who you listen to,what seems to be a common theme is that the National Democratic Party is now in the midst of a sort of soul-searching effort.  But again, and I want to stress this, these opinion-givers arereferring to the Democratic Party on a national scale.  Which does beg the question: How does the OklahomaDemocratic Party feel about the recent election results on a statewide scale? To help answer this question, I invited Alicia Andrews, who is the Chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party, onto For the Record to see how she and the party as a whole is feeling since it seems like the dust is finally settling from election night. 7News Political Analyst Justin Allen Rose has the story.

The study placed Oklahoma on the very last spot on the list for a multitude of reasons that Hicks discusses during the interview. Ep 4: The Freedom from Religion Foundation

This interview is one I had with Annie Laurie Gaylor who is the co-president of the Freedom from Religion Foundation, also known as the FFRF. The FFRF is currently party to a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Nation's first religious public charter school right here in Oklahoma. The non-profit group has been quite active in the sooner state in other ways as well. They recently got a Tulsa Public School to remove Christian displays from several of their classrooms, and another public school district in the state to stop hosting daily prayers during its morning announcements. During our conversation, we talked about those cases and much more. While this conversation hosts ideas which typically are not in the majority in Southwest Oklahoma, that reality makes this conversation an even more important one to have.
