    You Only Get 36 Chances

You get 36 frames on a roll of film.No screen. No second chances. No way to know if you got the shot. And somehow… that limitation changes everything. In this episode of Foto Focus, I talk about how shooting street photography on film forces you to slow down, pay attention, and decide what actually matters before you press the shutter. It’s less about taking more photos — and more about taking the right ones.Film has a way of making you more present.More intentional.More aware of the moment in front of you.And in the end, that’s what street photography is really about.🎧 Listen to the full episode above. Turning the Mamiya RZ67 Into an Instant Camera

Most instant cameras are designed to be simple. But recently I tried something a little different — shooting instant film with a Mamiya RZ67.The RZ67 is a legendary medium format camera originally built for professional studio photographers. It normally shoots 120 roll film, producing large 6×7 negatives known for incredible image quality. But thanks to the NONS Instant Back, the camera can now shoot Instax Square. That means you can capture an image with a massive studio camera… and watch an instant print develop just moments later. It’s a slightly unusual combination, but also a really fun one.The experience of using the RZ67 encourages a slower, more deliberate approach to photography — composing carefully, focusing through the ground glass, and thinking about the image before pressing the shutter. And then, moments later, you’re holding the photo in your hands. It’s a fascinating mix of classic medium format photography and the magic of instant film.If you’d like to see how the setup works and what the images look like, you can watch the full video here.
