We heard the original of this tune during the ending credits of the movie Joy, whcih also happens to be a wonderful story of perseverance and triumph in the face of seemingly insurmountable forces. Originally this song was performed by Cream, in this brilliant cover, Alabama Shakes' vocalist Brittany Howard puts some pepper and grit into a deeply soulful rendition. This is actually a bit of a social/musical commentary on so much of the music that we hear when we are out. It seems as though there is an absence of soul in so much of what we hear, the absence of that feeling, you know the one, the one that feels oh so good on the dance floor.
