What's The Matter With Seattle? w/ University of Washington Student and Independent Journalist Paris Apodaca

Radical leftists on college campuses are nothing new, but they do seem to be getting more and more radical and aggressive, particularly in some states where the greater public lets them get away with it, such as my once home state of Washington. Paris Apodaca - University of Washington Student and Independent Journalist - joins the Freedom Shots Podcast this week to discuss Antifa Window Smashers, Spineless UW Bureaucrats, and the Western Washington Woke Machine.Check out her article about the recent TPUSA event at UW that we discussed here: Trans activists smash window, shut down pro-woman TPUSA event at U. WashingtonSince I interviewed her, Paris has also published some amazing work at both Campus Reform and the WALL STREET JOURNAL (!!!) so be sure to check those pieces out as well. Does Winning The Wokeness War Mean The Death of DEI? w/ Isaac Willour

Donald Trump’s first week in office has been full of many moves, some more controversial than others. One action that has set the internet on fire and cable TV talking heads a buzz has been a move to gut federal DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs. Yet, the federal government is far from the only place where we are seeing this move. Many corporations have also announced the end of their DEI initiatives, namely since Donald Trump’s re-election last November. This begs the question - is culture downstream from politics, or is Trump’s election the result of a nation being fed up with radical leftist policies. Isaac Willour, Young Voices Contributor, and a Corporate Relations Analyst at Bowyer Research joins the Freedom Shots Podcast this week to discuss the War on Wokeness, and where that leaves DEI today. Check out Isaac’s article on the PIVOT by YV Substack: What Winning the “Wokeness” War Actually MeansConnect with Isaac Willour on X: Isaac Willour (@IsaacWillour)Connect with Victoria on X: Victoria Snitsar Churchill (@snits_churchy) This is a public episode. Virginia's Special Elections and the Balance of Power In Richmond w/ Jessi Blakely, The Family Foundation Action

Those who follow and participate in Virginia politics know the unique laws of the Commonwealth set up an election every year, split between state races in odd years and federal races in even years. Yet, November’s elections saw two members of the Virginia State Senate elected to serve in the U.S. Congress - Republican John McGuire in VA-05 and Democrat Suhas Subramanyam in VA-10. This has triggered three Special Elections that will take place on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025 in two State Senate and one House of Delegates districts. Jessi Blakely, State Director for the Family Foundation Action - a Richmond-based Christian Conservative 501c4 - joins the first 2025 episode of the Freedom Shots Podcast to discuss exactly how consequential Tuesday’s Special Elections are for the future of the Commonwealth, not only for the next two months in Richmond but also for Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin’s legacy in his final legislative session, as well as how this sets up November’s state elections.
