[REPLAY] #50 Learning How to Teach Strategies for Online Educators – Višnja Željeznjak

Episode #50! Is that a milestone?Either way, I'm thrilled to be joined by Višnja Željeznjak, an educators' educator based in Croatia. She started her business in 2002 (it's incredible how that's 20+ years ago), initially focusing on website development. Over the years, she transitioned to B2B marketing consulting and eventually started Eduza, her education platform, during the COVID-19 pandemic. She discusses the importance of active (!) sales and the misconception of passive income from online courses. She advises starting with live courses to receive feedback and improve the content. Višnja also recommends creating micro-courses with one specific outcome and combining services with educational products. She highlights the value of workshops for practical skills and suggests incorporating interactive elements. What is extremely valuable are Višnja's insights and tips on how to teach and present in workshops and online courses effectively. She emphasizes the importance of using the "I Do – We Do – You Do" teaching strategy in workshops, where participants are shown how to do something, practice it as a group, and then practice individually.Don't multitask while listening to this one; instead – take notes. I sure did. :)Enjoy!Takeaways:Starting with live courses allows for feedback and improvement.Active sales are crucial for success in selling educational products.Passive income from online courses is a misconception; it requires ongoing work and marketing.Micro-courses with specific outcomes are more suitable for beginners and busy individuals.Combining services with educational products can cater to different customer needs.Start with examples rather than theory when teaching to help learners connect and understand better.Avoid distractions and smile to calm nerves before presenting.Set realistic goals and expectations when starting out as an educator. Here's where you can connect with Višnja:LinkedInEduza (education platform)(Note: All of Višnja's channels are currently in Croatian, but that shouldn't stop you from taking a look and connecting with her!)_______________________________________Let's connect on LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/anjalordanic/You can donate and support this podcast here:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/freelancebusinessunlockedThank you and see you next week!

Spoiler alert: it’s not about having more time, support, or willpower—it’s about building a system that works for you. Drawing from my own podcasting journey and real-life examples, I unpack how overthinking and fear of judgment can stop even the most creative minds from putting their work out there. You’ll learn why the fear of being seen (especially by people you know in real life) can be paralyzing—and how to move forward anyway. You'll also hear about one of my favorite insights from Amy Porterfield, reminding us that B+ work gets us further than chasing A+ perfection ever will.Whether you're a podcaster, content creator, or just someone trying to finally take that next step in your business, this is the episode for you.Takeaways:Progress beats perfection. You don’t need it all figured out to begin. You’re not being judged as much as you think. The pursuit of perfection limits your learning. There’s no growth without momentum.B+ work is good enough.Resources mentioned:Interview by Alex Sanfilippo: How Amy Porterfield Went From No Online Presence to $100M In SalesMy LinkedIn profile (let's connect and discuss this further!)___________Let's connect on LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/anjalordanic/Thank you and see you next week!

Whether you're a coach, consultant, creative, or service provider, you've likely wrestled with the balance between generosity and strategy in your content. Should you give away the “how”? Or should you stick to the “what” and “why” and keep the rest behind a paywall? In this episode, I explore the nuanced layers behind this question, including:The difference between generosity and exhaustivenessWhy your free content builds trust—but shouldn’t overwhelmThe real reason people pay for your services (hint: it's not just information)How the mode your audience is in affects how they process your contentWhy “how” content isn’t as dangerous to give away as we might thinkYou’ll also hear why I believe the future of content is in thought leadership—and no, that doesn’t just mean showing off your wins.
