Our April speaker, Jill Deupi - Beaux Arts Director and Chief Curator of the Lowe Art Museum - will talk about the possibilities and perspectives an artist can have to exhibit with a museum. #engage conversation Jill Deupi is both a prominent scholar and author. She has earned a bachelor's from Mount Holyoke College and a law degree from American University's Washington College of Law where she graduated summa cum laude. She also holds a master's and a Ph. D. in art history from both the University of London's Birkbeck College and the University of Virginia. With a monthly meeting series, French Arts Associates intends to offer a platform to connect like-minded individuals in the Miami Arts community. Our November's guest is Anna Alexis Michel. Playwright. Photographer. Writer. Anna Alexis Michel has written and produced plays. She is the co-creator of the Meringue Project. Anna Alexis Michel is an advocate for the women's rights and she is using her talent as an artist, photographer, and playwright to raise awareness of some of the worst dreadful situation women are in. Anna Alexis Michel wants to open world's eyes on excision, rape, discrimination, mutilation, and abuse. French Arts Associates' October guest speaker is Kathryn Mikesell. Foundress of Your Fountainhead, Miami-based collector, and philanthropist, Kathryn Mikesell has been involved with the art world from the date she moved to Miami. The Fairy Art Mother of the Artist has opened along with her husband, Dan, the Fountainhead Residency, a one-of-its-kind artist’s residency program, in order to help the visual artists get a place to work, interact, network and evolve. She talks about her multi-faceted engagement toward the art community and about creating a productive relationship between a collector and an artist. #empower your life with active networking : “How an introvert has challenged herself to network amongst extroverts” After 20 years spent developing and launching products for Fortune 500 companies in the US and Internationally, Sophie Lefebvre opened her own company 18 months ago. Following the opening of a consulting company focusing on strategy development, Sophie co-founded MarketFit, an acceleration platform for startups and entrepreneurs alike, in March 2017. While being an introvert in corporate America presented its own set of challenges, pivoting her career also meant embracing being an introvert navigating a predominately extroverted world. Listen to her experiences and the challenges she established for herself, one networking event at a time.

The Breakfast Talk Series # 2 with Alette Simmons-Jimenez as our guest for April 18, 2017. Alette Simmons-Jimenez is an artist, an art designer and a cultural organizer. She has internationally exhibited her works in museums and in galleries in Europe, Asia, and in Americas. She has been a recipient of numerous grants including the Knight Arts Challenge Grant. She has developed an art project – Artformz Alternative – as an artist’s collective project. She also is an avid supporter of women art leaders and had created the Florida Chapter of ArtTable, a New York-based organization for women leaders in the art industry.
