Cinematic Fantasy No. 2 - "From The Old World"

Composed while my stay in Prague, Czech Republic, this piece was written as a part of finals of the "International Antonin Dvorak Composition Competition" in 2018. It was composed based on a theme of his (an excerpt from this Piano Trio No. 3 "Dumky"), a few measures which served as the material to develop the composition. The piece seeks to build upon Dvorak's legacy, as it utilizes many of his characteristic music elements, like a heavy use of modal scales with some tonal elements, as well a particularly way to esthetically approach to orchestral music. This piece's name is a reference to Antonin Dvorak's famous 9th symphony "From the New World", which he wrote when he travelled from Europe to America. Since I did the opposite travel route, I decided to name my composition "From the Old World".

"Genesis Universe" - Main Title (Cinematic Fantasy No. 1)

Originally named "Cinematic Fantasy for Orchestra No. 1", this piece was composed during my later studies of music composition in the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. This is the first full-fledged composition for orchestra that I have written, which I feel embodies my aesthetic musical style as an orchestral composer. It has also gone to make me the first peruvian composer to go the "International Antonin Dvorak Composition Competition" in 2018, held in Prague, Czech Republic, earning me a spot in the finals of this competition. I am truly grateful for having this opportunity, since I feel my hard hours of work put into this piece have really paid off. The composition has come to become the "Main Title" for "Genesis Universe" (Universo Genesis), the first peruvian all-digital comic book app, developed by the company 7 Cats Art Studio. This comic book is one of the few ones that have music. This is particularly interesting for because the musical compositions in this comic do not only enhance the experience by providing background music, but they also contribute to the narrative of the story. The piece is now to be known as the music you will hear when opening the app and Web Page of this truly amazing comic book. Music composed and orchestrated by Gabriel Iwasaki .

    Giza

Giza is the 5th track track of my latest solo album "The Journey Continues". The song is inspired by the mystic and complexity of the pyramids of Giza, Egypt, and seeks to convey a sense of arabic edge to it, but with more modern sound, featuring a lot of synthesizer sounds and crazy distorted guitars. It is the only instrumental track from the record, featuring a lot of complex and hard-to-play parts for all of the instruments, as well as some keyboard and guitar solo battles. Composed, Arranged, Mixed and Mastered by Gabriel Iwasaki Produced by Gabriel Iwasaki Band members: Vocals: Catalina Hidalgo Keyboards: Gabriel Iwasaki Guitars: Wilmer Pachas Bass: Gabriel Leon Drums: Miguel Galdos

    Into Darkness

"Into Darkness" is the 2nd track of my latest solo album "The Journey Continues". It is one of the darkest and longest tracks of the record, and definitely one of the most complex ones. In a way, this song helps to set the tone for the entire album, featuring a lot of epic orchestral sounds, distorted guitars and a lot of emphasis in instrumental and vocal virtuosity. Composed, Arranged, Mixed and Mastered by Gabriel Iwasaki Produced by Gabriel Iwasaki Band members: Lead Vocals: Gustavo Michael Keyboards: Gabriel Iwasaki Guitars: Wilmer Pachas Bass: Gabriel Leon Drums: Miguel Galdos

    Out From The Light (Single)

"Out From The Light" is the 3rd track from my latest solo album "The Journey Continues". The song is the single from the record. The lyrics talk about the journey of a character from the light to dark, and it is all about the transition between one and another. Musically, the song is dark but modern, with very edgy synths and heavy distorted guitars and some catchy vocal melodies. Composed, Arranged, Mixed and Mastered by Gabriel Iwasaki Produced by Gabriel Iwasaki Band members: Lead Vocals: Gustavo Michael Keyboards: Gabriel Iwasaki Guitars: Wilmer Pachas Bass: Gabriel Leon Drums: Miguel Galdos
