Good Energy: Metabolic Stability
In today's practice, we explore the connection between metabolic health and disease. The underlying root of all diseases is inflammation. When you peel back the layers of what causes inflammation in our body, you will find the root cause at a cellular level. When we eat, the mitochondria (powerhouse of the cell), break the food energy down to provide energy for our body, converting it to ATP. When something in your external environment (food, medication, toxins, lack of sleep) throws off the functioning of your mitochondria, the body reacts by engaging your immune system, triggering inflammation in your body. When the powerhouse of the cell becomes overwhelmed, food energy is not being converted into ATP/cellular energy, and we get fat storage in cells. This eventually leads to insulin resistance and increases our risk to all disease. Shannon

The Foundation of Habitual Health
Join me in today's practice, where you will focus on why Habitual Health is structured the way it is.Habit: A routine or practice performed regularly; an automatic response to a specific situation The habits we have in our life are part of our identity… and overtime, bring us closer or farther away from the life we want. They are the foundation of getting the results you want in your life. If your goal is to exercise everyday, lose weight, lower blood pressure, improve your metabolic health, have better balance, or lengthen your healthspan, it all drills down to your everyday behavior, your habits. Habitual Health is designed to make mindfulness, nutritional awareness and movement part of your routine. It provides you with a system to take action in your daily life to improve your health, grounded in science. The light in me sees the light in you,Shannon
