HERMES

HERMES project aims at providing educational institutions high quality, fast and free access to knowledge by building capacity to implement and share a comprehensive vision and widespread competencies on resource sharing accompanied by an open-source system to support effective access to knowledge for all. In 2020 the pandemic forced academic libraries to move exclusively to the Web. A group of volunteer librarians under the aegis of IFLA created RSCVD, the first experiment in free digital resource sharing worldwide. Now, through the HERMES project, the group intends to put in place actions that can create long-lasting impacts.
