Movies range from stone cold classics of the genre to...well the lovable misfits. Not only is there appreciation for the whole spectrum of content in the horror film canon, at least 50% of the movies discussed will be films made by female or non-binary directors. THRILLERS: Psycho (1960) & The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

It’s the thrilling ride you’ve all been waiting for. Episode 1️⃣2️⃣ explores two of the most beloved additions to the horror genre: Psycho, directed by the master of suspense, Sir Alfred Hitchcock and The Silence of the Lambs, directed by the brilliant Jonathan Demme. ..... Before we dive into this episode, we want to make one thing clear: we love and support trans people, and we strongly believe in a world where everyone can live authentically and safely. We recognize that the portrayal of trans characters in the films, particularly in relation to the character of Buffalo Bill, is deeply problematic. It perpetuates harmful stereotypes and misrepresents the trans community in a way that we do not condone. This episode is meant to engage critically with the film, not to defend or justify these portrayals. ..... BODY HORROR - The Fly (1986) & Raw (2016)

Welcome to Episode 2️⃣ of the pod! Join us in our gaggy goopy conversation of Body Horror, as we discuss one of my personal favorites, The Fly (1986), directed by THEE daddy of body horror, David Cronenberg & the disturbing coming of age cannibal flick, Raw (2016), directed by Julia Ducournau. My favorite horror buddy, Donovan (composer of the pod’s music and also the one who makes each episode sound wonderful!), and I discuss why body horror is one of the hardest sub genres for people to watch, what it can symbolize, and how bodily transformation, sickness, and torture on the screen give us unforgettably creative stories and moving portrayals of relationships. ..... 🗓️ Join me and my extra special guests each Friday for a new episode structured around a sub genre of horror, with two movies from that sub genre serving as examples. ⭐️ Loving the pod? WITCHES - The Witch (2015) & The Love Witch (2016)

Welcome to Episode 1️⃣ of the pod! Join us in our mystical conversation on the horror sub genre of Witches, as we discuss the puritanical black magic masterpiece, The VVitch (2015), directed by Robert Eggers & the technicolor tarot eyegasm, The Love Witch (2016), directed by Anna Biller. My brilliant friend, Evangeline, and I explore all things Witch, from feminism and empowerment to what it may look like to "burn a witch at the stake" in modern times. Also, why are witches associated with broomsticks? Do men belong in witchy spaces? And why did Eggers make the devil so daddy? 😈 ........ 🗓️ Join me and my extra special guests each Friday for a new episode structured around a sub genre of horror, with two movies from that sub genre serving as examples. ⭐️ Loving the pod? WELCOME TO HORROR? HARDLY KNOW HER!

Welcome to the pod! I am thrilled to introduce you to season 1️⃣ of Horror? Hardly Know Her, a passion project I've had in my heart for a long time. 💀 This romp into horror films is an exploration of all the gritty and wonderful parts of being a human. Scary movies can be a powerful reflection of our deepest fears and desires. They provide a safe place to dissect heavy themes and feel fear but also an extremely connective, campy place to laugh and have fun. There is so much to learn and enjoy from the art form. 🔪 Join me and my extra special guests as we explore themes, patterns, and perspectives through this unique lens. Each episode will be structured around a sub genre of horror, with two movies from that sub genre serving as examples. As a queer woman, I also have made sure that half the movies discussed were made by women and non-binary directors and writers. Their voices are critical to this expansive look and new perspective on the art form. ... 🗓️ Join me and my extra special guests each Friday for a new episode structured around a sub genre of horror, with two movies from that sub genre serving as examples. ⭐️ Loving the pod?
