13ാം വയസില്‍ വീടിനടുത്തെ കൊട്ടകയില്‍ നിന്ന് ആദ്യമായി സിനിമ കണ്ടത്, പിന്നീട് ഒരു ദിവസം പോലും ആ കുട്ടിക്ക് സിനിമ കാണാതെ ഇരിക്കാനാകുമായിരുന്നില്ല, വീട്ടിലറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ കൊട്ടകയ്ക്ക് പുറത്തിരുന്നു സിനിമയെ കേട്ടറിയേണ്ടിവന്നു. സിനിമാ മോഹവുമായി ചെന്നൈയ്ക്ക് നാടുവിട്ടത്, തിരികെ വന്ന മകന് അച്ഛന്‍ അവിചാരിതമായി നല്‍കിയ പിന്തുണ,മാല ഊരിവിറ്റ് ചെന്നൈയ്ക്ക് മകനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ച അമ്മ, ആ അമ്മയ്ക്കായി എല്‍എല്‍ബി പഠിച്ച മകന്‍, കയ്യക്ഷരം നന്നായതുകൊണ്ടുമാത്രം സിനിമയില്‍ കിട്ടിയ ആദ്യ ജോലി, പിന്നീട് സഹ സംവിധായകനായും സംവിധായകനായും നിറഞ്ഞുനിന്ന കാലം. 16 വര്‍ഷത്തെ കാത്തിരിപ്പിന് ഒടുവില്‍ ആദ്യ സിനിമ. ഒരു പതിമൂന്നുകാരന്‍ തന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തിലേക്ക് നടത്തിയ യാത്രയെക്കുറിച്ച് പറയുകയാണ് സമുദ്രക്കനി.പ്രൊഡ്യൂസര്‍: മയൂര എം.എസ്. കണ്‍സപ്റ്റ് & ക്രിയേറ്റീവ് ഡയറക്ഷന്‍ രഞ്ജിനി മേനോന്‍, ഷോ പ്രൊഡ്യൂസര്‍: അരവിന്ദ് ഗോപിനാഥ്. സൗണ്ട് എഞ്ചിനീയര്‍:സുന്ദര്‍ സേതുമാധവന്‍.
